Modern Villa located in a peaceful spot near Praia das Maças in the World Heritage Region of Sintra about a 30 mins drive from Lisbon Airport. Ideal for professional couple(s) in search a perfect summer holiday. The local beach of Praia das Maças is only 5 min walk away, or also drive to Praia Grande in 5 mins. This area is also great for the outdoor holidaymaker who wishes to maybe go hiking, trekking, or even cycling (bicycles also available for rent). Wide choice of restaurants in the area offering some of the most excellent sea food in the region. Superb golfing venues can be found at Penha Longa, Quinta da Marinha and Belas Country Club all located within a 20 min drive. The town of Sintra is located within a 15 min car drive, and Cascais is located at around a 25 min drive from the villa, where you can find a variety of great reataurants and bars to cater for enjoyable evenings out. No smoking at property. No pets allowed. This villa is wheelchair unfriendly.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

This Villa is located in the small, welcoming sea village of Azenhas do Mar. Situated on the west coast of Portugal, just north of Lisbon, Azenhas do Mar is only 12km from the exquisitely beautiful world heritage site town of Sintra which boasts amongst it’s major attractions, the Moorish castle and the fairy-tale like Palácio da Pena (Pena Palace). Sintra has remained even until today a noble town surrounded by pleasant woods and plentiful water springs. Sintra is one of the most delightful places to be found in Portugal, with its extensive range of green hills the Serra de Sintra - (Sintra Mountain Range) so picturesquely situated, offers stupendous views of the coastline with its impressive beauty, Sintra is indeed "The eighth wonder of the world".
The potentialities of the Sintra district are not confined to the wild enchantments of the Serra, sometimes wreathed in mist, and to the artistic heritage of the Old Town, described by Byron as "the most pleasing in Europe", but also include valuable archaeological remains, particularly from the Roman period, ancient manor houses, churches of personalised artistic value and characteristic villages.

Sintra / Azenhas do Mar area

Gold sand & unspoilt Atlantic waters together with the magnificent cliffs of this coastline turn the Sintra beaches unique sunbathing spots. The Sintra beaches offer excellent conditions for water sports such as surfing, body-boarding & fishing. The cliffs provide paragliding lovers with excellent jumping ramps. This property is located within a 5 min distance from the local municipal swimming complex.
The beaches in the Sintra region are of a high quality, both regarding water tests and infrastructures. The best-known beaches - Praia Grande, Praia de Magoito, Praia das Maçãs and Praia da Adraga.
Azenhas do Mar has a very small local beach with a natural salt water pool.
The Atlantic coast is rich in marine species, both animal and vegetable. Among the molluscs, for example, are octopus, cuttlefish and squid, mussels, limpets, clams and barnacles, among others. The crustaceans found here include various kinds of crab, including spider and rock crabs, lobster and rock lobster, the last two in zones further from the coast.

How to get there

Fly in by all the major airlines TAP, BA, British Midland, Easyjet all into Lisbon International Airport. The property from there is only a 25km jolt. A car is the best bet to getting around in Portugal. By booking through our website, you can prebook your personal transport to drive you directly to the property.
