Home description

Originally built in the 1940's as a traditional summer retreat for a large Lisbon family, it is set in its own private grounds with a family sized-pool, large patio/barbecue area, lawn, drive and double garage with adjoining changing room, shower and facilities.

It is ideal for a large family group and/or friends looking for a base to enjoy the holiday resort of Praia das Maçãs. The Villa can accommodate up to 12 people in 3 double bedrooms with en-suite shower/bathrooms and 3 twin bedrooms. 2 extra baby cots are also available at request.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Situated on the west coast of Portugal, just north of Lisbon, Praia das Maçãs is only 12km from the exquisitely beautiful world heritage site town of Sintra which boasts amongst it’s major attractions, the Moorish castle and the fairy-tale like Palácio da Pena (Pena Palace). There is also easy access to Lisbon itself, the famous casino in Estoril, or the beautiful marina at Cascais. Within 5 minutes walking distance of the villa is the Lido with its Olympic-sized swimming pool with water slides; a children's playground; Tennis courts and 5-a-side pitch. Across the road is the covered morning market selling everything from fresh fish, vegetables, freshly grilled chicken to beachwear and toys.

The fabulous fine sandy beach (supervised by lifeguards in the summer season); the tram terminus to Sintra; All the main fish restaurants, brasseries and cafes - some overlook the beach, with sea views west to the setting sun. A pizza restaurant, bakers and a fine butcher (just around the corner from the centre) - everything you will need for a wonderful holiday.

A lot of thought has gone into the property, which is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Fresh bed linen and a full set of towels for each guest is also provided.
