Home description
Casa da Olga has been in the family for over 50 years, having been bought new by my grandfather. This and two other properties, listed under property no. 15833, have been used as the family holiday home for three generations. They have undergone extensive renovations in the winter of 2004 and are now completely refurbished. It is surrounded by a traditional courtyard with budding grape vines and flower beds - a great place for barbeque's! Sea views can be seen from the gate and it's only a short walk to the beach. There is also an Olympic sized swimming pool by the beach for those who do not wish to venture the waves which includes a children's pool as well. We've got our own website where you can find more photos and extra information. Please contact us for our web site address. Casa da Olga is located in the small, welcoming sea village of Praia das Maçãs, with a friendly atmosphere, attracting all age groups. Situated on the west coast of Portugal, just north of Lisbon, Praia das Maçãs is only 12km from the exquisitely beautiful world heritage site town of Sintra which boasts amongst it’s major attractions, the Moorish castle and the fairy-tale like Palácio da Pena (Pena Palace).

There is also easy access to Lisbon itself, the famous casino in Estoril, or the beautiful marina at Cascais. The perfect romantic getaway, the choices are endless both in activities and entertainment, with golden sandy beaches just a small stroll away. You're spoilt for choice with so many great seafood or traditional Portuguese cuisine restaurants just a few minutes walk from the house (and the beach!), where you can relax and enjoy life...with a nice glass of wine! It won't cost you an arm and a leg either, so you can try a different one each night.

The area, protected by the national park, is both beautiful and full of historic attractions, don't miss the palace and gardens in Sintra and Monserrate. The tram is a novel, cheap and interesting way to get to Sintra (Friday and weekends only) and avoids parking problems. The buses are equally convenient but not such fun. The area is well served for restaurants within walking distance of the villas, Adega das Azenhas was outstanding.
