Home description
A beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped apartment for 2 people. It is on the ground floor of a very attractive and well maintained block, just 200 metres from Seaforth beach and restaurant.
There is private, secure parking with an electronic “zapper” to open the gate with your own designated parking space.
There is a small, pretty garden to the front of the flat with a bench and two chairs. The chairs can also be taken to the beach. There is a beautiful sea view across False bay from the garden.
All the furnishings and fittings are to a very high standard as well as lovely linen and large fluffy towels.
This superbly postioned apartment is just a couple of minutes wak from the beautiful Seaforth beach and restaurant and just 5 minutes walk from the Boulders Beach Penguin colony and the gorgeous Penguin Point Cafe. The sea on this side is several degrees warmer than the Atlantic side and Boulders and Seaforth Beaches are perfect for swimmming.
Simonstown is just a 10-15 minute walk and has a superb selection of restaurants and shops. You can have breakfast at Bertha's harbour front restaurant and maybe take a boat trip out to seal island or around the naval base.
This is the perfect location for explorinng the most beautiful parts of Cape Town including Cape Point, which is just a bit further up the promontory, where you will see Baboons and can visit an ostrich farm. Youy can drive or get a train in to Cape Town and visit the Waterfront and book a trip out to Robben Island. Also Kirstenbosch botanical gardens are a short drive away. You can also take an organised trip or self drive to the winelands at Paarl and Stellenbosch in about 45minutes. We provide a complimentary welcome food pack including wine and fruit on arrival and can also arrange car hire with chauffeur drive from the airport and flights.

The Western Cape region
Our accommodation is on the Eastern side of the Cape, in False Bay. We chose this location as the beaches on False Bay are beautiful golden sand and the water is often 5C, or more, warmer than on the Atlantic side and can reach 20C in summer. This makes swimming far more pleasant.
Between July and December, False Bay is a favoured haunt for whales and their calves and they often come very close to the shore. The Spring months of August and September bring a blanket of beautiful flowers across the region.
Other attractions on this side include: the Boulders Beach penguin colony, a must-see for anyone visiting Cape Town; Cape Point, the most Southwesterly point of Africa, and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, which offers truly awesome scenery, some fantastic walks and deserted beaches, plus the chance to spot rare wildlife, as well as the famous baboons; the shops, restaurants and harbour of Simons Town; the beaches of Muizenburg and Fish Hoek; and many fantastic restaurants including the renowned Brass Bell, at Kalk Bay.
The city is only 45 minutes drive away, where other must see attractions include the shops, aquarium and boat trips to Robben Island at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
There is also a train service from the city centre through to Simon's Town. It hugs the coast from Muizenberg to Simon's Town, offering spectacular views across the bay and to the Hottentots-Holland mountain range, stopping at St James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek and Glencairn on the way.
The beginning of the wine route of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek is about an hours drive from our accommodation in False Bay. Also within easy driving range are the towns and beaches on the western side including Kommetjie, Noordhoek, Hout Bay and its World of Birds, and cosmopolitan Camps Bay.
There are numerous golf courses nearby and other available activities include windsurfing, paragliding, climbing, cycling, walking, fishing, surfing, sailing and boating, riding and base jumping, as well as excellent spectator sports including rugby, cricket and football.
Our accommodation provides the perfect home away from home. It is conveniently located to visit all the must see attractions of the Cape South Peninsula and as a base or starting point for trips along the garden route.
Simonstown / Seaforth area
Seaforth beach is a beautiful golden sand beach just 200 metres away. There are often penguins found on this beach and they have been known to follow you up the road back to the apartment - a stunning sight! The highly recommended Seaforth restaurant and gift shop are next to the beach, serving fabulous food and drink inside and outside on the deck - perfect for "sundowners". Also the entrance to Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - a must see whilst in Cape Town- is just a 5 minute walk away.
Seaforth is just a 15 minute walk from Simonstown - an histoorical naval town steeped in history. Simonstown has some fabulous restaurants, shops and galleries and a harbour where several boat trips can take you round the naval yard and out to seal island.
Seaforth is perfect for seeing the Boulders Beach penguin colony, for whale spotting between July and November and for visiting the other must see attractions of the area including Cape Point, Noordhoek, the antique shops of Kalk Bay and is also close enough for day trips to the Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch wine regions and just half an hours drive from the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens and Hout Bay, and you can visit Cape Town city centre and the waterfront easily by car or train in under an hour
How to get there
From the UK there are direct flights with British Airways, SouthAfrican Airways and Virgin from Heathrow or Gatwick. You can fly from most regional airports with one European stopover with KLM, Lufthansa and other European airlines. The flight time is about 12 hours and there is only a one or two hour time difference - so no jet lag! We can recommend a local car hire company and we can arrange a chauffeur drive from the airport with the hire car delivered to the property at very reasonable rates.
