This charming clapperboard house perched on a gentle slope overlooking Boulders Beach is the stuff of holiday dreams. With a mountain behind and all about the sea, it is the perfect place in which to restore, rejuvenate and renew. Sensitively configured for both private time, and communal sharing, Boulders Beach House can accommodate a large family, or several couples seeking a shared accommodation experience. The house is decorated with relaxed vintage charm, inspired by Simonstown's Royal naval history which results in an ambiance of romance and comfort.

A short stroll away is world renown Boulders Beach, with its famous penguin colony. Giant boulders shelter beach lovers from the errant wind, and calm waters make for safe family swimming. Visitors to Boulders Beach House are spoilt for choice, since there are five other beaches within close walking distance to explore. Simonstown itself is a delightful coastal town, with its own waterfront, golf course ( adjacent to Boulders Beach House) and a diverse array of restaurants, shops and pubs to choose from. There are many beautiful hikes to walk nearby, and the drive out to Cape Point is an opportunity to observe local baboons with their baboon monitors!

Several beautiful drives through a variety of interesting suburbs provide scenic routes to the sexy splendor of Cape Town about 30 kms away.

The Western Cape region

The coastal suburb of Simonstown is about 30 km from the city centre of Cape Town. It looks out over False Bay, and is characterized by winding roads that hug the coastline. Each coastal suburb has its own charm and character. Muisenberg is famous for its surfing and swimming, whilst Kalk Bay offers an eclectic mix of shopping and dining as well as a busy little harbor where line fish can be bought fresh off the boats. Noordhoek offers horse riding on its long pale beach, and the Cape Point reserve is a beautiful way to encounter the rich and unique flora and fauna of the Cape.

Simonstown

Simonstown has a rich naval history, and still houses South Africa's navy. It's 'historical mile' with its well preserved Victorian architecture harks back to the life of its early inhabitants. It's waterfront offers trips out to seal island, and a chance to take a closer look at the Southern Right whales that visit the bay annually. The main strip has an assortment of lovely shops, and restaurants. Hikes up in Red Hill offer beautiful vistas, and an opportunity to see the Cape Floral kingdom (fynbos) at close hand. Boulders Beach is famous not only for its sheltered coves, and giant boulders but for the penguin colony that has made it's home there. About 6000 birds continue to use the area, and can often be seen strolling along the main road or scuttling into the bushes along the golf course.
