The Western Cape region
Hot sunny days and warm evenings welcome you to Simonstown during the summer months (November to April). Stunning views in the most beautiful enviroment of the Cape Peninsula. Situated along the coastline of False Bay, Simonstown is a interesting, beautiful and historic bayside centre. Simonstown is a naval town but is also home to a busy commercial and leisure craft industry as well as a thriving tourism trade.
Simonstown's main road is known as "The Historical Mile" as many of the buildings lining the street have been around since the founding of the city and are more than 150 years old. Interesting buildings to visit is the Old Residency building which is also a museum, The Warrior Toy museum which is quite unusual and the Topstone Mineral World which is a great place to pick up some gemstone jewellery. Simonstown also host the oldest English Church in South Africa which was consecrated in 1814.
Simonstown / Glencairn area
The Simontown village is rich in history, charactor (founded in 1687), atmosphere and warmth. Our neighbours are the whales during season (July to September), penguins and seals all year round and the world heritage status bird life, deep sea fishing, a sea kayak trip to Boulders Beach to see the penguins in their natural habitat. The Simonstown walk tour is one of the best ways to learn about the history.
Take a unforgettable cruise aound Simons Bay then to visit the seals at Seal Island, scuba dive the famous local dive spots in the Cape.
Simonstown has about 25 restaurants to choose from. Simonstown hosts a lovely waterfront area whereby you will find yourself comtemplating the statue of a large dog, the legend behind this statue is about a dog called "Just Nuisance" who became the first and only dog to ever hold a rank in the Royal Navy in 1940.

How to get there
Approximately 40 minutes from Cape towns airport. It is easy to rent a car and drive yourself. We usually use Avis which has competitive rates. Coming to Capetown from Europe you can use several airlines. BA, Lufthansa, Airfrance, South African Airlines and KLM are some choices.
