This spacious and attractive villa, easily accommodating a maximum of 6 people (+ one baby), is within easy walking distance of the town of Sigean, 15kms from Narbonne and 5kms from the sea. It has a large south-facing private garden and pool. It's ideal for the type of holiday where you want to relax, swim and sunbathe without the need to go too far. If you want to sight-see howvere the villa is a great base for exploring Aude and Pyrenees Orientales.
The villa has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms. It is comfortable (with central heating for the cooler months) and is very well-equipped, making it ideal for out-of-season holidays - and a fantastic base with a lovely pool for summer holidays.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Aude region
This part of the Languedoc has a sunny Mediterranean climate. It can be hot in summer, but the temperature is often tempered by a breeze. Now the 3rd most visited region in France by British people, the Languedoc offers something for everyone. Miles of long, sandy beaches, coastal lagoons, vibrant cities such as Narbonne and Montpellier, historical sites such as Carcassonne and the Cathar castles, fabulous scenery, great cuisine and vineyards, vineyards, vineyards.
Sigean area
Sigean is an interesting town well-serviced with restaurants, bars and local shops: bakers, butchers, grocers etc and a supermarket. It also has bars and restaurants, and its own weekly market. Available locally is tennis, fishing, horse-riding, water sports, hiking and mountain biking. There are some naturist beaches in the area of Gruissan and Port Leucate.
There are plenty of attractions within easy reach - the African Nature Reserve just outside Sigean, and for wine-lovers Terra Vinea at Portel-des-Corbieres just a few minutes away by car. Nature lovers will enjoy the Etang de Sigean near Bages to watch the pink flamingos and other birds that visit the large lake. The medieval city of Carcassonne is less than an hour's drive and well worth a visit, as are the Cathar Castles.
Don't forget to visit the lovely city of Narbonne, which has an outdoor market on a Thursday and Sunday morning, and an indoor market every morning except Sunday. There are great beaches to at Narbonne-Plage and Gruissan.
How to get there
The town of Sigean is very near the coast just 15 mins drive South of Narbonne. The nearest motorway junction is No: 39 on the A9 Languedocienne.
Perpignan, Montpellier and Carcassonne airports are the nearest (all within 50 minues drive) and all are serviced by low-cost airlines. You can also use Toulouse airport - about 90 minutes drive.

Further details indoors: The living room has a fireplace, a leather sofa and 2 leather armchairs, a coffee table , a TV (french channels) and a DVD player and hi-fi system. The dining room has an attractive round dining table and chairs. French doors lead out to the garden and terrace.
There are 4 bedrooms in total: 3 have double beds, storage and hanging. The 4th has twin beds for children. The owner prefers to have a maximum of 6 people here.
Further details outdoors: There is a spacious terrace outside with good quality table and chairs for al freco dining. There's a barbeque available for your use, as are both children's and adults' bicycles. There is a large private garden attractively planted with trees, shrubs and oleanders. You'll find boules equipment, children's outdoor games and ping pong. There is private parking in the drive for 2 cars.
The attractive swimming pool is 5m x 10m and is secured by a baby alarm. It is treated and kept clean without the use of chlorine. There are various sun-loungers around the pool area.
An attractive feature of this villa is the ancient olive oil mill in the garden.

Winter-heating, all bed linen, and towels are included in the rental cost. Cleaning is NOT included in the rental cost and is charged at €50 per week.
Please note that the owner requests a damage deposit of €1000 on arrival, which is returned to you in full at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
Saturday-Saturday reservation are required in the peak season. There may be some flexibility in medium and low season.
