The building is composed of several apartments and sleeps 56 people. The building, settled in the luscious green tuscan countryside, is framed by the Giardino all'Italiana (italian garden), and the so called Bosco Inglese (english wood). Also, between the olive groves, you will find the Viale dei Cipressi (Cypress lane), which leads to the swimming pool, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Siena and its surroundings in the distance.

The property is located just 8 kms from Siena. Quiet, peaceful and romantic, the villa has easy access to all amenities, including many excellent restaurants for eating out, supermarkets, groceries and charming places or villages such as Montalcino, Pienza, San Gimingnano, Volterra or Florence.

The Tuscany region

Both "Villa" and "Fattoria" accommodation (our Tuscany farmhouse) are part of Catignano Residence, situated about 8 km. far from Siena – the city of art which is so important to the culture and history of Tuscany.
It is also only 3 km. far from road # 408, which leads from Siena to Florence, passing first through Gaiole in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Greve in Chianti, 3 small, wonderful typical town. Neither is it far from other equally charming places, such as Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano (southbound) and San Gimignano, Volterra, and Massa Marittima (west side); all of them are located no more than 50 km. away. It is equally easy, taking the motorway between Siena and Grosseto and passing through parts of Maremma, to arrive at the most pleasant beaches of the Tirreno Sea (for example Punta Ala, Castiglione della Pescaia and Talamone, all of which are less than 100 km. away).

The "Villa di Catignano" was built at the end of XVII° century by the ancestor of the currents proprietors, Quinto Settano, pseudonym of Monsignor Lodovico Sergardi, a writer and a lover of the arts. The small borough already existed in 1500 with the name of "Clatinianum" as a property of Sergardi family.

Nowadays the Villa, overlooking a beautiful italian garden, decorated with statues representing the four season, and the medievaltowers of Siena in the distance, welcomes guests who appreciate historical sites and suggestive atmospheres. The Villa is divided into large apartments, the most suggestive ones can be reached walking through the large entrance hall dominated by the coat of arms of the Sergardi family and their motto "Expertus fidelem".

Guests will appreciate lemon trees, vases of geraniums all around the Villa and the Arcadian atmosphere wich has been for centuries a frame to the tradition of a family of notaries and lovers of letters and arts. We are certain that the peace and serenity of this ensemble will remain with them forever.

GETTING MARRIED IN TUSCANY, WEDDING VENUES IN TUSCANY, MEETINGS AND EVENTS:
The old "Tinaia", completely restored with cap vaults and terracotta' floors , can hold up to a hundred and twenty people for weddings, meetings and dinner parties.

From the Tinaia it is possible to reach a large terrace and guests can also make use of a wide external area including a beautiful and charming Italian garden. For wedding dinners and parties, we will also be happy to suggest possible catering solutions to anyone interested.
