Home description
Il Giardino is an elegantly restored luxury villa in the heart of Tuscany.
Part of an ancient estate dating back to 1300, il Giardino has been carefully restored joining the traditional Tuscan architectural elements and flavour to modern commodities. Wooden beams and terracotta floors take you back to ancient times, whilst en-suite bathrooms, dishwashers, wi-fi internet connection and a large panoramic swimming pool add all comforts to your stay at il Giardino. The house has 4 en suite double bedrooms, an elegant lounge with fireplace, a large kitchen, a large dining room. The house is staffed, a 4 hours cleaning service is included in the rental fee. The large panoramic garden - from which the name Il Giardino - surrounds the house with its beautiful flowers and the large 12x6 swimming pool. By the pool are comfortable wooden sun beds, tables and umbrellas for al fresco dining.
The hamlet of Anqua is an ancient farming estate built by the family who still own it. Il Giardino belongs to the estate but is completely separate from the main villa, which is about 500 mts away. the land is surrounded by secular oaks, wild flora and fauna. The hamlet sits on the hills in the Cecina Valley, streams of the Cecina river flow nearby. The area is ideal for a relaxing retreat in wild nature yet breathing centuries of Tuscan history. Medieval villages like Radicondoli and Belforte, vibrant with community life, are a mere 10 kms away. Anqua is the ideal base for a retreat in nature, long walks and stunning views can be enjoyed in the area. At the same time one can quench their thirst for culture taking day trips to beautiful art cities like S. Gimignano, Siena, Florence, Volterra. Wine tours can be enjoyed in the Chianti and Brunello regions nearby.

The Tuscany region
Fantastic weather from May to October, May and September being the very best months to enjoy the natural setting, the sunlight and temperature. Radicondoli and Belforte are perfecly preserved Medieval villages that have kept their character and very lively community. This area is in fact one of the few still authentic and unspoilt parts of Tuscany, away from the limelight and off the beaten track. Very close to stunning art cities as Siena, Florence and S. Gimignano, but immersed in wild nature.
Siena / Radicondoli area
Radicondoli is a pictoresque village, set high on the hills of the Colline Metallifere, offering breathtaking views of the valleys around - stretching as far as Volterra and S. Gimignano. It has a very strong identity and a very lively community. Throughout the year many village feasts liven up the otherwise quiet lifestyle. The village brass band is a gem. Events worth mentioning are 1 May, S. Giovanni on 23 June; the famous Drama Festival from 27 July to 12 August which attracts Italian and International artists.
