La Casa di Alice" Bed & Breakfast is a characteristic stone farmhouse laying among vineyards and olive trees in a panoramic position overlooking the green valley of the Merse river. It has been recently restored conserving many original features and divided into four comfortable bedrooms each with private en-suite shower bathroom:three double bedrooms and a triple bedroom. The living room is on the ground floor.There,the owners,Alice and Davide will serve you breakfast with milk,coffee,a variety of herbal teas,biscuits,cornflakes,jam,yougurt,fruit and home-made cakes and bread or,if you like,you can savour salami and cured meat from Cinta senese swine,the typical native Sienese breed with black hair and a white band raised in almost wild status in the Sienese countryside. The nearest village is Casciano di Murlo,a characteristic village of southern Tuscany where you can find a grocery shop,two "pizzerias",a bank,a post office,services to and from Siena,tennis court a public swimming-pool,riding and trekking. "La Casa di Alice" Bed & Breakfast is the perfect starting point for visiting historic towns in Toscany such as Siena (about 20 kms away),Montalcino,Pienza,Montepulciano and the beautiful beaches of the Tuscan coast.

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is the most famous and visited region of Italy thanks to its wonderful art cities - Florence, Siena, Pisa, Volterra, S. Gimignano to name just a few; its wine - Chianti, Brunello, Sassicaia, Montepulciano; its food - Florentine steak, the hearty soups, the wild boar stews, the wonderful fish soups; for its natural settings - the wonderful Tyrrhenian coast, the Maremma, the Crete Senesi, the Appenine and certainly for the fun loving character of the Tuscan people. The weather is gorgeous between May and October, July and August being the hottest months (38°) and May and September the greenest and lushest. Last week of July and mid August Siena hosts the famous Palio, an experience worth living. Every village of Tuscany has paesant feasts throughout the summer and autumn. There are plenty of activities one can do whilst here.
Siena / Murlo area
The Location of La Casa di Alice is perfect for touring. Siena 35 kms, 1 hour to Florence, 7 kms from Murlo and Buonconvento where you'll find shops and markets. The beautiful Etruscan/Roman village of Montalcino just over the hill is famous for its Brunello di Montalcino wines and boasts some excellent restaurants. Within half an hour's drive there are fascinating towns and villages rich in art and architecture such as Murlo and its Etruscan museum, Montepulciano, Monte Oliveto Abbey, Sant'Antimo monastery where you can listed to beutiful Gregorian chants, Pienza - home of Pope Pius II, one of the most picturesque towns in Italy - also famous for its Pecorino cheeses. Shops, restaurants, banks, tennis courts are all within easy drive.
