Casa Carla (cottage)

Home description

The cottage is set at ground floor, has a garden and a courtyard and is shaded by a huge old oak tree. Has two double bedrooms, sitting-lounge room, american kitchen and a bathroom/shower. All furniture and equipment are new. Garden furnitures are also available.

The position of Montacuto is half way between Siena and Grosseto, that means it is a ideal base for cultural excurtions but also just to have healthy walk between woods, olive groves and vineyards. It all could be a beautiful rural retreat, a romantic break or a city break.

The Tuscany region

Tuscany is mostly a hilly region where life used to by very hard. To travel was very difficult so communities were quite closed. That visabily affected the culture ecspecially in the area called Maremma which begin in Pari.

Maremma is a region within a region. So very far from Florence,Maremma inhabitants still manage to have their artlife. Lots of interesting things can be seen in little medieval villages. Besides that, Maremma has a wonderful coast. Nice villages to visit are Montalcino, Monteriggioni, Sant'Antimo (the Abbey), San Galgano,Pienza, Pitigliano and others.

Siena / Pari area

Grosseto is the capital of Maremma region, is not a big town but is very active. The main square is very pretty. Pari/Montacuto is 20 miles far from Grosseto and same from Siena. Siena is rich with art and is always crowded with tourists.

There are many events all along the year. Pari is a tiny clear little medieval village. In the mid weekend of August there is a summer fest where you can dance and eat good fresh food right in the middle of the square, which creates a special atmosphere.

How to get there

The best way is to fly to Florence as it is the nearest airport, there it is easy to rent a car and drive toward Siena and from there some 20 miles to Pari.To fly to Pisa, which is just a bit farer, is also convinient because is an important hub for Ryaanair and they quote many cheap daily flights. British airways is a bit more expensive but makes the journey easier as they fly in better hours. More detailed info will be sent to you at due time. In any case, if you have a mobile, it is recommended to stay in touch.

Short term breaks minimum 4 nights. Breakage deposit of Euro 150 payable at the arrival and will be returned at check out. Booking deposit Euro 200, final payment 1 month before guest arrival, or, only in case of time shortage you can pay cash at the arrival. All payment must be cash or bank transfer, sorry we are not able to accept cheques or credit cards.
