Home description

The cosy cottage "La Guardiola" was once the house of the castle's guardian. It is now a 2 bedroom stone house which can accommodate up to 4 guests. The cottage has been completely restored and consists of 5 rooms: 2 bedrooms, a comfortable sitting room with dining area and open fireplace, a kitchen and a bathroom. It has a private garden with garden furniture which opens onto the garden of the Grotti Castle.
The cottage is all on one level. There is a small entry way with a kitchenette off to one side. This leads to the living/dining room with a cosy fireplace. There are doors from the living room out to the private garden where you can enjoy the views of Tuscany.
At the other end of the farmhouse are the two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twin beds. The bathroom is complete shower, sink, w.c. and bidet.
Upon request, laundry facilities are available (5 Euros per load).
Nearby, at just 600 meters, you'll find the village of Ville di Corsano with a restaurant, bar, post office and supermarket. You can actually walk there through the countryside and the olive groves. Amazing!
Siena is at 12 km, Firenze at 80 Km, Grosseto at 63 Km.
You can easily make day trips to some of the most beautiful towns of Tuscany: Pienza at 50 Km, Monteriggioni at 32 Km, San Gimignano at 46 Km, the Abbey of San Galgano at 32 km. or visit the medival towns of Val di Merse.
Some spa in the region: Bagni di Petriolo at 21 Km, Bagno Vignoni at 45 Km, San Casciano dei Bagni at 90 Km, Saturnia 115 Km.

The Tuscany region

The Castle of Grotti is located 12km south of Siena in the Crete Senesi. The castle is a perfect base to explore southern Tuscany. It gives easy access to the most popular destinations in Tuscany, such as Siena, the Chianti, San Gimignano, the Val d'Orcia, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano and Cortona.
It is perfect to visit the Maremma area as well and to enjoy the natural hot springs in Petriolo.

The area where the Castle is located is "postcard Tuscany", with its gentle rolling hills, the cipress-lined roads and the amazing views over the countryside and the hilltop towns.
Siena is a very famous city which offers amazing sights, art, excellent cuisine, and the local flavours of a small Italian city.

Fly to Pisa or Florence. A car is necessary.

There are two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with twin beds which can be arranged as a double bed. The house is perfect for a couple or for a family of 4 people. Ideal for honeymoons and romantic holidays in Tuscany but also for a relaxing get away to Siena.

If you cancel 40 days or more before your scheduled check-in, we will retain 40% of your deposit.
