The Tuscany region

Tuscany is the heart of Italy and Siena is the heart of Tuscany.

Few areas in the world can boast the variety of landscape and economy distinguishing the territory of Siena, where every town, village or hamlet contains art treasures and historical evidence of priceless value.

It begins in the north with the incomparable scenic beauty of the Chianti lands, with their patchwork of wines and olive trees standing out in orderly rows against the hills tamed by the farmers' skill.

Siena / Sovicille area

Siena - (59,000 inhabitants), is not only one of the most fascinating towns in Tuscany but is also in a particularly beautiful position, with lovely environs.

The town is the capital of the Tuscan province of the same name.

It preserves its medieval character to a remarkable degree, and has been largely unspoilt by new buildings. Its beautiful Gothic buildings include the Cathedral and Palazzo Pubblico, as well as numerous churches.

The delightful Sienese school of paint ing produced, in the First half of the 14C, masterpieces by Duccio di Buoninsegna, Simone Martini, and Pietro and Ambrogio Lorenzetti, all of whose work is well represented in the Pinacoteca, Palazzo Pubblico, and Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.

The Campo is one of the most remarkable squares in Italy. The seventeen Contrade or wards into which the town is divided still manage to play an active part in the life of the city, culminating in the famous Palio horserace which has survived as perhaps the most spectacular annual festival in Italy, in which the whole city participates.

The town is built on a Y-shaped ridge and spreads into the adjacent valleys; the streets are consequently often steep, and to pass from one part of the city to another it is often necessary to cross a deep valley. For this reasonv and also because its treasures are unusually scattered, several days are needed for an adequate visit. From the town there is an extensive and varied panorama which includes Monte Amiata and the metalliferous hills, as well as the clay downs of Asciano and the wooded district of Montagnola. To the north, the scenery changes once again, with the densely cultivated hills of the Chianti.

A) The guests arrival is expected from 04:00 pm to 07:00 pm.

B) Borgo Villa Risi guests must leave the flat by 10:00 am.

C) Motor vehicles must stand in the parking place.

D) Guests must observe the silence from midnight until 08:00 am.

E) Access to and use of the garden and swimming-pool are exclusively reserved to the guests; possible visits of strangers must be previously authorized by the Direction.

F) For the use of the swimming-pool guests are kindly requested to behave with the utmost correctness, diligence and respect of the property and must wear proper shoes and clothes.
Hours of the swimming-pool: 8:00 am to 08:00 pm.

G) For the availability of places you can look up in this Website or call.

H) Bookings are accepted until places are sold out and must be accompanied by a down payment established by the Direction corresponding to 30% of the overall amount. Bookings non confirmed bay down payment will not be considered as valid.

I) The settlement of the stay must be effected on arrival. The commitment for the booked period is valid even if not completely enjoyed due to delayed arrival or departure in advance.

L) For stays of one or more weeks 250.00 Euros are requested as caution money which will be returned on the day of the departure.

M) Partakers who due to unforeseen hindrances should give up the stay will be entitled to the reimbursement of the amount paid down as deposit only in case the cancellation arrives at least thirty days before the arrival. Cancellation communications will only be considered as valid if they are transmitted by registered letter or by E-mail. For the terms the postmark or the date of receipt of the E-mail will be considered as valid.

N) The Direction reserves the right to modify its programmes when made necessary by events not attributable to it; under no circumstances can gusts pretend any form of indemnification. Besides, the Direction does not take on any responsibility for possible damages to and thefts of vehicles or accessories. All limitations to liability provided for by this paragraph are aimed at favouring the accommodation facilities Alancar Srl whose Administration is located in Via Montalbuccio, 2 - 53100 Siena. For possible controversies towards Alancar Srl, the Court of competent jurisdiction if that of Siena.

O) No claim will be taken into consideration by Alancar Srl se unless validated by written declaration deposited during the stay at the accommodation facilities BORGO VILLA RISI of Alancar Srl.
