Home description
Podere Sant'Alessandro is an old Tuscan cottage with a panoramic view immersed in beautiful scenery, among woods, vineyards, medieval villages and castles. The structure has been just restored, but we didn’t want to modify its original architectural characteristics. It supplies with all modern comforts. The suite is independent and finely furnished with equipped kitchens, satellite TV, video recorder, heating, air conditioner, safes. Our swimming pool, surrounded by the garden in a panoramic position, is equipped with comfortable sun beds, tables and parasols. You can enjoy a night swimming below the stars thanks to our illumination system. The owner of the structure is Carlo Gilistro a paediatric doctor. He gave the management to his sons and grandsons. They will you know the taste of this beautiful land and will give you all the precious information about the very evocative and cultural paths about wine and food, especial events and festival. We are open all the year!

Podere Sant'Alessandro is in a centre of very interesting paths: you are just 30 minutes by car from Pienza, Montalcino, Arezzo, Cortona and Siena... You can stay in the Property and just relax by the pool in front of a wonderful panorama or go discovering the beauty of the region, we will suggest you all the best places where to go and where to eat!
Siena / Crete Senesi area
Crete Senesi are clay hills all around Siena where you can look at favolouse corners with cypress, old smallholding, spa waters centres, small Romanesque parish church, Etruscan graffito and a sign of modern art.
Siena is an old medieval town, an important cultural centre, where you will find also the Centre of Contemporary Art in a Renaissance building.
Siena’s museums can offer Duccio di Boninsegna and the rich Sienese school that developed from him; and then the works of Iacopo della Quercia, Francesco di Giorgio, Beccafumi, Sodoma. The Palio horse race is a colourful, bareback horse race round the dirt-packed Piazza del Campo that takes place every July 2 and August 16. The contrade (traditional neighborhoods) compete for the palio dedicated to the Virgin.

How To Reach Us: - By car coming from Rome or Florenz: Highway Autosole A1 Milano-Napoli: Take the- exit: “Val di Chiana-Bettole” and follow the direction for Siena along the Superway “Siena-Bettolle”; after about 20 km you will take the exit “Asciano-San Gemignanello” and follow the direction for Asciano or San Gimignanello Castle. Take the right up to the bridge and follow the road up through the hill; After 2 km along that road on the right side you will find the Podere Sant’Alessandro gate! - By car coming from Siena: Superway “Siena-Bettolle”: Take the exit “Serre di Rapolano” (not Rapolano Terme!!!!) and follow the direction for San Gimignanello Castle (Brown Sign). After the bridge take the right and follow the road for about 1 km; at the cross take the right for San Gimignanello Castle and then the first to the left for San Gimignanello Castle. After about 3 km Take the right up to the bridge and follow the road up through the hill; After 1 km along that road on the right side you will find the Podere Sant’Alessandro gate!

Further details outdoors: Barbeque, garden gazebo, sunombrella, sunlaunger, ecc.. are available for all the stay. We produce our own wine and olive oil. The swimming pool is situated in a place where you can see a beautiful panorama, characterised by vineyards and old dive groves, which will make your staying very relaxing and pleasant. The night illumination of the swimming pool will let you to use it also at night time. The swimming pool is heated with solar pannel system, so it is open from spring to autumn.

Terms of payment - On booking, is due a deposit of 30% of the total package amount. - The balance shall be paid at your arrival or before your departure date.
Customer cancellations Customers can cancel bookings notifying the Organisation. Customers cancelling bookings shall pay a deposit and a fine as follows: - 0% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs from booking date to 30 days before their arrival date - 30% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs from 29 to 15 days before their arrival date - 75% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs from 14 to 5 days before their arrival date - 100% of the total value of their stay if cancellation occurs after such date.
Payment procedures On booking, the customer can choose to pay the deposit of tourist package either by credit card or through bank draft.
