Home description
Podere Calza is a restored cottage whose foundations date back to medieval times. Sitting on the side of a hill, surrounded by olive trees and shaded by a secular oak tree, Podere Calza is the perfect base for a quiet and romantic holiday in a part of Tuscany which is still very pure and unspoilt. The house was completely restored by its owner, a lady who lived there permanently for 10 years. The house has a real welcoming feel. It develops around a very bright living area with a large fireplace and high windows offering stunning views over the country. A glass door takes you out to the terraced garden shaded by a lovely oak tree under which sits a table for al fresco dining. Off the living room sits a reading room equipped with a good stereo and television and a double sofa bed. The reading room hosts a split floor with another double sofa bed. The back portion of the barn hosts a double bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub. The garden is private and offers parking. The house is easily reached through a 500 mt gravel road off the main road leading up to the village of Radicondoli.

The Tuscany region
Fantastic weather from May to October, May and September being the very best months to enjoy the natural setting, the sunlight and temperature. Radicondoli and Belforte are perfecly preserved Medieval villages that have kept their character and very lively community. This area is in fact one of the few still authentic and unspoilt parts of Tuscany, away from the limelight and off the beaten track. Very close to stunning art cities as Siena, Florence and S. Gimignano, but immersed in wild nature.
Siena / Radicondoli area
Radicondoli is a pictoresque village, set high on the hills of the Colline Metallifere, offering breathtaking views of the valleys around - stretching as far as Volterra and S. Gimignano. It has a very strong identity and a very lively community. Throughout the year many village feasts liven up the otherwise quiet lifestyle. The village brass band is a gem. Events worth mentioning are 1 May, S. Giovanni on 23 June; the famous Drama Festival from 27 July to 12 August which attracts Italian and International artists.
