From its privileged hilltop position it enjoys spectacular views over the countryside surrounding covered with fields and the town of Siena with the tower of the Town Hall and the Duomo.
The restoration of the villa has just been completed with great care to details and maintaining its original structural features. Villino Le Tortore has been furnished in the typical Tuscan style and thanks to the large windows all the rooms are bright and luminous.
Built on top of the hill where the monastery of Santa Chiara in the XVII century stood still, as you recall from the small church beside the villa, it ensures complete quiet and relaxation few minutes from all the amenities included the bus stop just 100 meters away.
Accommodation: Villino le Tortore is 95 square meters and it extends over two floors. The furnishing is in the original Tuscan style where the rural tradition perfectly melts with the elegance of the city nearby.
On the ground floor you are welcomed by a large living room with fireplace, a smaller sitting room with single sofa bed and well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom with shower. On the first floor there are two bedrooms (one twin and one double) and one bathroom with shower.
The villa has air conditioning on the first floor, internet connexion, TV sat, CD and DVD players and washing machine.
Garden and swimming pool: The wrought iron portico welcomes you in front of the main entrance for your al fresco dinners or simply to relax while reading a book. It is equipped with table and chairs and also sofas.
The exterior of the villa boasts a paved floor and lawn dotted with flower pots leading you to the swimming pool (14x7 meters) fully equipped with sun lounges and sun umbrellas. Surrounding, the 3 hectare estate is at your disposal for undisturbed walks through the olive groves. For sport lovers the private tennis court will be a pleasant plus.

Siena is a synonym for 'high quality lifestyles'. It was the first Municipality in Europe to close its center to traffic in 1966. Siena is a place of international culture. Its university is 750 years old and it hosts several noteworthy institutions such as the Chigiana Musical Academy, the University for Foreigners, the Accademia dei Fisiocritici and the Accademia degli Intronati. In this city, everything has remained unchanged for centuries. There, one breathes an 'atmosphere' that cannot be found elsewhere, because its people truly maintain the traditions of their ancestors. The tradition of the Palio, for example, is celebrated and renewed each year with the same renowned power and enthusiasm.
Siena has Etruscan origins; it was a Roman colony whose name was 'Sena Julia'. Its importance grew considerably in the Middle Ages, first with Lombards and later, under Carolingian leadership. After a long period of Episcopal dominion (from the 9th to the 11th century), the city reached the peak of power and became a municipality in 1147. During this period, Siena adopted expansionist policies towards bordering territories. Confrontation with Florence was inevitable and due to various vicissitudes, their struggle lasted until 1555. In that year, after a long siege, Siena was conquered by the Florentines. Thus, the city lost its autonomy and became part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, sharing the Duchy's destiny until the Unification of Italy in 1861.
