The original building is from the 14th Century, restored in neo-gothic style at the beginning of the 19th Century. Its charme and atmosphere can be rarely found in other historical buildings, because our family preserved carefully its character. We are located in the middle of the most beautiful sites to see in Tuscany and Umbria: Montepulciano and Pienza are at 12 Km, Rome is 2 hours drive, Siena and Florence at 1 and 2 hours drive.

The magical courtyard, sourrounded by a romantic balcony leads to the first floor composed of: One dining room, one kitchen, a living room, two double bedrooms, one single bedroom, one bathroom with bath tube.
At the second floor, one large hall, two small sitting rooms, three double bedroms, one of which with private bathroom, one single room, two bathrooms, one with shower, one with bath tube; a huge balcony.

Private big italian style garden and park. There is a 10X20 mt swimming pool to be used from the guests of the Farm. On site we sell Farm products: Chianti Doc wine and olive oil, and we organise typical Tuscan dinners

The Fattoria di Palazzo di Piero is a 250 hectars Farm where, apart from the Castle for 12 people, we rent 2 beautiful Farmhouses for 10 people, 1 Farmhouse for 4 and one apartment for 2. Please enquire for further details

The Tuscany region

Situated in one of the most idyllic part of Tuscany and hidden among secular holm-oaks, pines, vineyards, olive groves, ponds and creeks, Palazzo di Piero has that special charm of etruscan sites. At the end of an oak-lined drive stands the large medieval residence with its elegant loggia and bell tower, its chapel painted with frescos from the 16th century and its lovely inner courtyard. The farm is located close to Sarteano (2 Km), to Chianciano (4 Km), famous for their thermal waters, and to Chiusi, rich in fascinating archeological sites and near the border line between Umbria and Toscana.

This area offers not only healthy vacations and a variety of outdoor activities, but is also an interesting departure point for learning about culture and traditions of this region.The property is only 4 Km from the Higway A1, making it a centre for major sightseeing. Florence, Perugia and Assisi are all very accessible, Gubbio and Orvieto less than one hour drive away. Rome can be reached both by train from Chiusi, or with two hours drive.

Siena / Montepulciano area

The Valdichiana is an excellent holiday base, opening up both the Siena region and the Umbrian region around Lake Trasimeno. This zone was one of the most powerful domains of Etruscans; the town of Chiusi was a point of exchange before Rome was founded.

Any nook of the countryside can hide a treasure: a little church with an unknown artistic work or an ancient memory of a battle. The nature, makes this zone very various and unique.
Chianciano Terme, just 4 Km away, is famous for thermal water and the best Spa of Italy.

How to get there

From Highway A1 exit at Chiusi-Chianciano and take direction "Chianciano". After about 4 Km turn on the white road with trees on both sides that leads to the Castle of Palazzo di Piero.

The nearest airports to the farm of Palazzo di Piero are: Perugia (106 Km), Florence (147 Km), Rome (193 Km), and Pisa (205 Km).
Budget airlines: Ryan air in Perugia, Pisa and Rome
By train: Chiusi Station at just 8 Km from our Farm, well connected to Rome
There are always local taxis available from the train station or we can organize the transfer. There are car rentals just in front of Chiusi train station.

Here you can experience the real tuscan countryside life. Every season has good reason to enjoy Palazzo di Piero. From the blooming spring-time, the nice hot italian summer, the harvests of the Fall.

"This place is straight out of Under The Tuscan Sun. The setting is idealic with vineyards and a castle and a beautifully restored farmhouse. Plenty of exploring to do on this huge and varied property. The staff went out of their way to be helpful in any way. The place was spotlessly clean. Our best stay yet!"

"It was like a dream when we arrived at the fattoria! We stayed in a converted farm house which was lovely and spacious and clean. We were a stones throw from the castle, church and swimming pool. There is also a vineyard there, and we had free rein of the grounds, all 250 hectares of it(There are also 2 lakes on the property)! It was a true Tuscan experience, the views and walks were amazing; we had initially thought of renting bikes to really see Tuscany but if you stay at Palazzo di Piero you don't have to leave the grounds. It was exactly what we had thought Tuscany would be like, it's so far removed from anything we had seen before. Carmen and the rest of the staff were so nice and helpful, and really made our stay enjoyable. We all fell in love with Carmen, she was so nice! Their wine was gorgeous as well! Thanks so much for everything, you really made our trip!"

"We had the most beautiful time in this great palazzo! The staff was very helpful and kind, and Carmen is the nicest person in the world. We had a car so we could go to the main turistics points in the area but if you don't it could be more complicated but they have bikes for rent so it's not a problem. Although staying just in the fattoria and enjoying the peace and beauty of the place, is not a bad idea, the place is awesome! We hope to come back soon."
