Montelandi is a typical Sienese villa set in 14 acres of woodland above the Via Cassia, the old pilgrim road from Siena to Rome, in the Brunello di Montalcino wine region. It is a special place for family get-togethers with large open spaces and quiet intimate corners. Smaller parties can also take enjoy the tranquillity of Montelandi by booking the Garden apartment which is below the main house may be booked on its own outside of the peak period.
There are various vineyards in the vicinity which welcome visitors. The local market town is Buonconvento, a medieval walled town with good shops, restaurants and cafes. It has a weekly market on Saturday. There are small reasonably priced trattotoria and a great variety of eating places from farmhouses to outstanding gourmet restaurants. There are three famous hill towns to visit, Montalcino, Montepulciano and Pienza.
Montalandi is the perfect place to spend time with family and friends and sample the traditional delights of Tuscany.

The Tuscany region
Many of the vineyards welcome visitors. There are small reasonably priced local trottoria and a great variety of eating places from farmhouses to outstanding gourmet restaurants on the vineyards.
There are three famous hill towns, Montalcino, Montepulciano and Pienza to visit, the great Abbey of Monte Olivetto Maggiore and the beautiful Abbey Church of St Antimo. Regular trains operate to Siena and Florence to save taking the car to the cities.
Siena area
The semi circular front garden gives a panoramic view of the ValD’Arbia and from the terrace we look across the valley to Montalcino, the little town famous throughout the world for its ‘Brunello di Montalcino’. The local market town is Buonconvento, a medieval walled town with good shops, restaurants and cafes. It has a weekly market on Saturdays and an interesting art gallery in a Liberty style villa near the Town Hall.
How to get there
Montelandi is easily accessible. Many budget airlines fly into Pisa and Florence and only a little further away than these is Rome international airport. Car's are readily available for hire at the airports.

Further details indoors: The Living room of the main house is large, it has a marble floor with a beamed ceiling and has a hooded Tuscan fireplace. The room is comfortably furnished with English upholstery and antiques. Doors from the living room lead onto a covered loggia with arches framing the view across the valley where there are facilities for dining or just enjoying the tranquillity of the view. There is a second large living room in the Garden apartment which has glass doors leading onto the terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a breakfast table to seat 12 and an open fireplace for log fires in autumn and winter. The Garden apartment kitchen, again is fully equipped and leads onto a terrace with long tables for al fresco dining. There are eight bedrooms in all, three of which are en suite. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a single bed should it be required. The second bedroom also hosts a queen size bed and has a open fire romantic winter evenings. There are two more double rooms in the main house one of which is en suite and a twin room. Both bedrooms in the apartment are double en suite.
Further details outdoors: The beautiful terraces are shaded by vine, ivy, jasmine and wisteriacovered pergolas. For outdoor living there are rattan and teak easychairs, recliners, dining furniture and barbaques. There is a private pool measuring 32ft by 16ft with steps at the shallow end. The pool has its own terrace away from the front gardens looking south. For the children there is a paddling pool and swings. There is also a games room in the house with table tennis.
