The apartment La Ginestra is situated on the ground floor of the Villa Il bel canto. It has: a large dining/sitting room with kitchen corner, chimney, tv, and a large window door to the garden. In the winter floor heating in every room.The kitchen is fully organized with all modern facilities. There is also one large double/twin bedroom, bathroom, with shower and jacuzzi bathtub & terrace. Space outside available for dining outdoors. Barbecue.

The Tuscany region

Il Bel Canto is at 2kms from the medieval town of Radicondoli built at the beginning of 1100 was after developed under Cosimo de Medici. Radicondoli district is an integral part of the Colline Metallifere-geothermis area. In 1972 production of electric power was started at the Travale 22, then the most powerful of a series of soffioni(geysers) with a power of 350 tons per hour. The visitor can appreciate the operation of geothermic power by visiting the power station of Larderello and its new museum. Hot spa waters do in fact spring from the Cecina Valley, renowned for their beneficial effect and used for therapeutic purposes since etruscan times. The Cornate Fosini Natural reserve is also located within the Radicondoli territory. This is set in the very area where the river Cecina starts and is one of the few mountainous natural reserves in southern tuscany.The Corpo Forestale dello stato breeds the Monterufoli Pony(a unique horse born in in the wild in tuscany,at their Cornocchia estate as well as offering a rest home for horses that have ridden the Siena Palio. Finally if You wish to see the avellinese horses in picturesque settings we advise you to visit the Anqua estate. The climate hot in the summer but with fresh winds in the afternoon and evenings, dry cold in the winter, lovely spring and beautiful autumn.

Siena / Radicondoli area

The small town of Radicondoli is still keeping its medieval appearance. Small artisan shops, few lovely restaurants with view on the countryside(la Pergola) .May Day festivity when morning fanfare wakes up all the town inhabitants inviting tem for a stroll around town ,then the festivitie finishes at the Radicondoli Park called il Poggio for an open pic nic.Music and traditional singing continues till late in the night. The Festa di San Giovanni with its open market in the streets where You can taste all the local products , normally followed by a concert in the square and different shows.From the 29 th of july till the 9th of august The Festival " Estate a Radicondoli, which contains strands of cultured and popular theatrical performances, offering works of prose,music,dance and children theatre.. From here You can easily arrive to Volterra, Siena ,San Gimignano, The san Galgano Abbey with its sword deeply planted in the rock.The Maremma coast .Walks and trekking weekly organized in the reserve of Cornate and Fosini. Long mountain bikes itineraries.11 km from the Terme delle Galleraie and Sasso Pisano terms.60 kms from the Maremma Coast.

How to get there

From Milan and Rome take highway A1 exit Florence Certosa, turn right, motorway to Siena exit Colle Val D'Elsa Sud. Follow directions to Radicondoli and Grosseto. Once you arrive in Radicondoli proceed in the direction of Castelnuovo for 1,900 Km. On Your right you will see the sign of il Bel Canto.

You can use Pisa airport or Florence airport. There are car hire rental offices at the airport in Pisa, Florence, or close to the station in Florence or Siena.

The large terrace with the salty water swimming pool is facing the Cecina Valley, the hot water sources of Anqua, the natural reserve of Cornate and Fosini. Long walks, mountain bike and trekking itineraries just starting behind the house.Tennis court available just 1 km far. Ideal place for excursions to the historical towns over mentioned. Excursion to the geo-termic resort of Lardarello with its museum. Local products tasting organized (cheese, wine, olive oil, salami of the famous cinta senese)can be organized on request. As is a personal yoga session and massage.

In the Garden under a large tree, organized space for dining in the open. Early risers can watch the animals feeding on the next reserve. Swimming pool (15mx 4, 1,50 cm deep) with salty water. One of the few places in Tuscany where you can still enjoy nature with no buildings in view at the same time as being close to the road and all facilities.
