Our SAMPSON SUITE is one of three unique self catering Suites located at Bulverton House, just one mile from Sidmouth's town centre and the Jurassic Coast.
Having started offering self-catering facility's in 2004 it soon became apparent how hard it was for our guests to find really good high quality self-catering accommodation in the Sidmouth area, especially if you are just one couple or a single person not wanting to pay for a two, three or four bedroomed house.

The Devon region
The East Devon area falls within the natural World Heritage Site (since 2001), Sidmouth is well placed as a base to explore this enchanting ancient coastal area. World Heritage status places the area on a par with many world class sites such as the Great Barrier Reef / Galapagos Islands and the Grand Canyon. Bulverton House accommodation is only one mile from the sea front and the main coastal road (A3052), a perfect setting for your holiday.
In adition there are a myriad of footpaths for the keen walkers among you, both along the coastal route and through the countryside. Bulverton House is on the rural edge of Sidmouth, a stone's throw from many pathways and intriguing areas
With seaside resorts for deck chairs and ice creams, high moorland for hiking and horizon views, valleys of lush greenery, cities such as Exeter for shopping, and rural villages for quaint customs, The county receives warm summers with occasional hot spells and cool rainy periods. Winters are generally mild and the county often experiences some of the mildest winters in the world. Devon has it all...!
Sidmouths Folk Festival, in late July-early August each year is a fantastic spectacle that transforms the town with hundreds of performers and events staged at a range of venues throughout the town. Bulverton House is uniquely placed to exploit this event located on the well-trodden route (as all you folk lovers will know) between Sidmouths Bulverton camp site & marquee and the town.

Located towards Topsham and well worth a visit is Darts Farm, home of local Westcountry food and drink and beautifully crafted, luxury gift, home and lifestyle products. Darts Farm has blossomed to become what is today - a nationally regarded local food hub, selling the produce of hundreds of the regions local food and drink producers.
A little further afield from Sidmouth (15 miles) you find the Cathedral city of Exeter which has its own host of attractions, and makes a splendid day trip. Bulverton House is located one mile from the main Exeter link road.

"Super little home away from home"
Great little house with super outside space. 10 minute drive to some lovely beaches in Sidmouth and even more in the surrounding areas. Comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. Peace and quiet. We had a lovely time.

"Idyllic First Class Sidmouth Base"
We recently thoroughly enjoyed a first class one-week break in the Samson Suite at Bulverton House.
We were two couples travelling and the Suite was perfectly laid out for comfort and privacy. We were tempted to spend most of our holiday enjoying the sunny garden and all the indoor amenities such as huge TV in lounge (and one each in our bedrooms!), soaker bathtub, enormous kitchen and king-sized beds. The wifi was reliable and very much appreciated. We did manage to tear ourselves away and explore the timeless, unchanging charms of Sidmouth but it was always a treat to head home to Samson in the evening.
Bulverton House's location was ideal for us. It was both convenient and peaceful. A scenic 15-minute stroll from the centre of town. Parking was plentiful and our hosts were discreet but also always available if needed. The grounds were simply and tastefully landscaped. I'd say that sums up Bulverton - tasteful luxury and simply delightful.

"This is the best 5 star accommodation we have ever stayed in!"
We were greeted at the gate on arrival and shown the accommodation. We were told briefly about the appliances and basic instructions. The property was immaculate, both in terms of decor and cleanliness, and was extremely well equipped. Furnishings were of very high quality and very comfortable. It was a bonus to have a private garden with lighting, complete with patio furniture and an arbour. The property was well located for exploring this part of Devon, just 15 miles from Lyme Regis to the east and 12miles from Exmouth to the west. There was plenty to see and do in Sidmouth itself.

"A great place to stay in East Devon"
We were fortunate to get a four week booking at the Sampson suite as we were between homes. We found it very comfortable and were able to feel quite settled. We particularly enjoyed being able to eat outside in the evening in our own private garden which caught the sun all day long.
Bulverton House is well positioned and we enjoyed many local walks in the area,

"Quality accommodation in peaceful location, ideally placed within easy reach of attractions."
This accommodation was perfect in every way. The internet description was accurate and it was very easy to book. The welcome pack on arrival was very much appreciated and we were warmly greeted by the owner. The accommodation lived up to its 5 star rating and was extremely clean and comfortable. Although no vista-types view at the property, the garden was very well thought out and provided a lovely space for outdoor relaxation. The property is within easy reach of Sidmouth seafront and town and ideally placed for the many attractions available in this part of Devon. We would definitely stay here again; our 2 children age 12 and 10 thought it was amazing.

"Fantastic! Clean, well decorated, comfortable, everything you need and i highly recommend."
This lovely suite had everything we needed for us, our 8 year old and 7 month old. It is spotless, has everything you need and is warm and comfortable. Since it rained cats and dogs while we were there we were in the rooms a lot and cooked meals there and we couldn't have asked for more.
Really friendly and helpful owner too - thankyou and we hope to stay again.
