Home description

Enjoy and relax in a lovely grade 2 listed cottage in the heart of the picturesque village of Sidbury. This cottage is comfortable,'homely' and full of character. The whole cottage is attractively decorated with an abundance of wood features throughout including beams and latched doors. A stable door leads from the lounge to the rear sheltered courtyard. The bijou syle/bespoke kitchen is well equipped and has a dining area with an excellent seating arrangement. From the lounge a 'cottage style ' staircase leads to a small landing with 'quaint ' window (far reaching countryside views) and doors leading to bedrooms and bathroom. Both bedrooms are spacious and characterful, the master bedroom having a dressing room or which also could be used as a cotroom/nursery! The bathroom has separate bath and shower and enjoys views of the devonshire countryside. Although this cottage is ideal for a peaceful relaxing holiday it is not 'off the beaten track' and is within easy reach of all amenities. The charming coastal resort of Sidmouth is only 2 miles distant,there are sandy beaches at Exmouth, and excellent shopping facilities at Exeter(12 miles), the capital of Devon.
An ideal base for exploring East Devon an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Sidbury itself is steeped in history (Saxon origins)and boasts one of only 6 known Saxon crypts in the country).
The cottage is on an extremely good bus route to Exeter,Sidmouth and Honiton.

Sidmouth / Sidbury area

Sidbury is a picturesque village with an abundance of thatched cottages. It is situated in the Sid valley and offers an ideal base for any type of holiday.
Its origins are from Saxon times and it boasts a Saxon church complete with Saxon burial crypt (tours are available).
It has a village pub, restaurant , butchers and village stores, (supermarket 5 minute drive).
Sidbury has its own fair once a year in August/September.
Sidbury is an ideal place to stay for the famous Sidmouth folk festival.
