Lovely 2 bed duplex in Side
from £25 /night help
Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Our apartment is within easy reach of everything Side has to offer. Although the apartment is within walking distance of the beach, old town and Club Oxyd, it is in a quiet residential area. When you have had enough of the night life simply return to the apartment for some peace and quiet.
Other facilities within easy reach of the apartment are the Saturday Market (10 mins), restaurants (5 mins), BIM supermarket (2 mins), Dolmus bus route (5 mins) and a number of bars nearby. The swimming pool is about 5 seconds away. The duplex apartment is situated on the ground floor and first floors of a small apartment block and overlooks the landscaped gardens. The swimming pool is shared only between the residents of the apartments and can be reached straight from the patio. It is open from the beginning ot April to the end of October.
The American style fully fitted kitchen includes oven, hob, fridge-freezer and washing machine. There is a patio off the lounge and a large balcony off the main bedroom. Satellite TV is installed and there is a DVD player which will also play music CDs and MP3 CDs.
Each apartment has its' own individual solar heating system for hot water, after a hard day on the beach you will not find the neighbouring apartments have used all the water and left you with a cold shower! There are 2 shower rooms in the apartment, one on each floor. To help you cool off the lounge is air-conditioned.
Situated between Antalya and Alanya, on a small peninsula on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, Side (pronounced 'see day') has something for everyone, making it the perfect holiday destination. A holiday in Side can be exactly what you want, whether that is watersports, admiring ancient history, golfing, clubbing or simply relaxing and enjoying the climate.
Side enjoys 300 days of sunshine each year, with the temperature remaining comfortable all year round. In May it is possible to ski in the nearby Toros mountains in the morning and swim in the Mediterranean in the afternoon. The 2 long and sandy beaches which flank Side offer plenty of space for sunbathing and watersports. The one to the East runs virtually uninterrupted from Side to to Alanya, some 50kms away
Once the secret hideaway of Anthony and Cleopatra, Side is one of the best-known classical sites in Turkey. It was an ancient harbour whose name meant pomegranate. The old town of Side lies on a promontory 300 meters wide and 800 metres long. Despite tourism, where new meets old Side still remains the most unique and charming resort on Turkey's southern coast. As you walk from the top of Side high street to the harbour, which was once a small fishing port, you can look down the small side streets to see the sea on either side of you. Side old town has retained many of its' old features, including its' architecture and archeological sites. Almost everywhere you look there are ancient monuments, some of them built into the fabric of current day Side.
Take a wander around Side's Roman amphitheatre and admire the history. If you keep your eyes open you may see one of the wild tortoises which live in this area, or spot a lizard darting into a hole in the rocks.
Meander around the picturesque harbour and before long you will arrive at Apollo's Temple, one of the most instantly recognisable landmarks in Side. Relax with a drink or a meal at one of the small bars and restaurants near here and enjoy the often spectacular sunset.
Side is not the only place of historical interest in the area, there is also plenty at Aspendos and Perge. 4kms from Side is the town of Manavgat, where you will find a wide range of shops and other services. The Manavgat River boasts many beautiful areas along its' banks, the waterfalls are not high but make up for that with a spectacular setting and plenty of water volume. Follow the river away from the sea and you will enter a National Park, the road leading eventually to the dam which took 20 years to build.
If you want a more dynamic holiday, there are plenty of watersports centres around Side, where you can try scuba diving or water skiing, even parascending. At the end of the day try out one of the nightclubs where you can sometimes see international bands.
We have made every effort to ensure the apartment is as comfortable and fully equipped as possible, to help you have a happy holiday. We hope you will enjoy yourselves and will return often.

The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
Side has a typical Mediterranean climate, mild in Winter and warm & dry in Summer. The Summer season is so long and warm that the outdoor pool at the apartment stays open until the end of October and is a lovely temperature from May onwards.
The Manavgat River, which meets the sea nearby, makes this area very fertile and much of the fresh produce grown in Turkey comes from this area. The fresh fruit and veg available from the local shops is unlike anything bought from a UK supermarket.
Turkey has been occupied by a number of empires over the centuries, arguably the most important being the Roman empire. Side was an important harbour and there is still plenty of evidence of the Romans everywhere you look, including an impressive amphitheatre. Between Side and Antalya you will find Aspendos and Perge, where there is another amphitheatre used for concerts and a Roman aqueduct, used for bringing water down from the Toros Mountains.
Not far from Side, the town of Belek boasts a number of championship standard golf courses and there are plenty of excursions available for those who like to explore.

"Wonderful apartment in a lovely town"
Excellent service, from booking through to return home. Lovely apartment and so nice to be able to (almost!) jump into the pool from the patio! Clean and very comfortably presented. Very handy for local shops, bars and restaurants (walking distance). 5 or so minutes walk from the local bus (dolmus). Effortless pick up and delivery to the airport - well worth the extra that we paid.
Thanks for your glowing review, we're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our apartment. We like the fact that although the pool is so convenient our apartment actually overlooks the gardens. We can sunbathe in the garden if we don't want to lie by the pool and it also means children have more space to play without being out of sight of their parents.
