About the home

Set in the ancient town of Side, these apartments offer a fantastic base for your holiday on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Located in a quiet friendly neighbourhood close to the old town and the beach, Side Garden Residence has a 25m pool, a sauna, exercise machines, a pool bar, full air-conditioning, wireless internet, free beach transport and 24-hour security.

Side (pronounced See-day) lies 60 Km (or 50 minutes drive) from Antalya airport and is one of the jewels of Turkey’s Turquoise coast. Jutting out from an unspoilt coastline of long, sandy beaches, this ancient Roman town, with its magnificent temples, amphitheatres and harbour make it is one of the major archeological attractions in this remarkable country.

Vibrant shops, romantic restaurants and atmospheric bars give Side a wonderfully exotic atmosphere. As you walk among the temples, stroll along the beaches and visit clubs built into the ruins of Roman buildings, you will be filled with a sense of being in a very special place. And all the time the people of Side, with their good-natured friendliness, will make you feel completely welcome.

Top this off with year-round sunshine, brilliant night-life, top-class cuisine and and activites to satisfy every taste, and we think you will agree that Side has everything that makes for a great holiday. The apartments are all pool-facing duplex (on two levels) with terraces on all floors. There is direct access to the pool from the lower floor. They are equipped with air-con in all rooms, satellite TV, DVD player, iron, dishwasher, washing machine etc.. Each has one double and one single bedroom along with a double sofa-bed. Bed linen and towels area provided, though guests should take their own beach towels.

Each apartment have sofa-beds for occasional use, but for parties of more than four persons we can arrange three-bedroom apartments or multiple two-bedroom ones.

In addition to the superb 25m pool, there is a children's pool, pool bar, fitness room, sauna, games room and free internet with wireless access to which you can connect your own laptop if required.
And you can relax in the knowledge that the complex is protected by 24 hour security.

This is a duplex apartment and may not be suitable for people who have difficulty with stairs.
Children should not be left unattended at the pool or on the upper terraces.
The double sofa-bed is only suitable for smaller people. If there are more than four persons in your party, we can arrange three bedroomed apartments or additional two-bedroomed apartments.

Conditions

A refundable breakage deposit of £150 is required with all bookings.
A non-refundable deposit of £150 is payable at time of booking.The balance of the booking is payable 8 week prior to the start of your holiday. If the booking is made less than 8 weeks prior to departure, the whole rental cost is payable.

The Mediterranean Coast region

Side is a town of major historical interest, having been founded in about 700 B.C and, in that time, home to Greeks, Romans and other civilisations. It is even reputed to have been a meeting place of Antony and Cleopatra!

Once you have explored the temples, amphitheatres and aquaducts of Side itself, you can explore further afield to places such as Apsendos with its excellently preserved amphitheatre and, further afield again, to places of world class geological and historic importance such as Cappadocia and Pamukkale. This part of Turkey is full of places to explore. We can arrange trips for you on request through our experienced English-speaking local agents.

Having 300 days of sunshine a year explains why this area is the primary location for golf in Turkey. The magnificent courses of Belek are only 30 km away. We can arrange green fees and trips on request.

This area is lucky to have plentiful supplies of water from the nearby Taurus mountains which offer skiing in the winter and mountain sports such as white-water rafting at other times. Again, we would be delighted to arrange these for you during your stay.

The Side area

Side is flanked by two superb beaches, the closest one is protected by the Turkish government due to its archeological and historic importance. It can be walked to in 15 minutes (across rolling sand-dunes) or you can use the free bus service. The other beach, on the other side of Side is home to the 5-star hotels and provides all the facilities you would expect. A free bus service runs there from the apartments every day.

There are many bars, restaurants and shops in the locality and in old Side itself. A big part of the fun is trying them out and finding your own favourites.

The numerous local mini-markets will supply you with pretty much all you will need for self-catering. The larger supermarket - the Turkish equivalent of Tescos - is a short drive away (about 2 Km). For more extensive shopping, the bustling town of Manavgat, is about 5 Km away and can be reached on the frequent Dolmus minibuses.

“This was magnificent. Excellent value for money. *****” This is the second time we have rented these apartments. The booking process with the proprietor was effortless. From the moment of arrival at Antalya and start of the private transfer, the quality is evident. The apartments themselves are beautifully furnished to a very high standard, with a full range of equipment. You could live permantly here, it is not a normal holiday apartment. It would sleep five without effort. The photographs do not do them justice. I will be coming here again.

“A little slice of heaven” We had a perfect holiday at Side Garden Residence, the apartment complex itself is well set out, a security code is required on entry which makes it feel very secure. The pool is large and very clean with heaps of sun loungers available. The apartment we stayed in was also very clean and spacious with two terraces, two bathrooms and all of the amenities that you would expect. The transfers to and from the airport were great, we were met immediately outside of the arrivals lounge and the transfer itself is only around 45 minutes. Although the apartment is away from the hustle and bustle of central Side, it is only a short taxi ride or you can hop on a dolmus, however, there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. I've been to Side a number of times and this was far and away the best place I have stayed in. The holiday was great thank you and the apartment was lovely very clean and spacious. Panicked a little when the flight was delayed 4 hours but the driver was there with his placard with my name on! We all had a lovely time at Side Garden Residence. The apartments were great and the children loved the swimming pool, we visited many places and found the people great. The night time security guard on site was brilliant and we found him extremely helpful. The air-conditioning and everything else was great and if in the future you rent it out and the people need feedback etc. I will be happy to help. We had an excellent holiday. This was our first time to Turkey but I am certain it will not be our last. The apartment was fine and met all our requirements and we would have no issues with returning. The other residents were very helpful and gave us plenty of advice and guidance. We had a fab time thanks, was very quiet at the apts, we had the pool to ourselves most of the time! We often walked to the beach in the afternoons or got picked up by the free services en route.The location was better than we expected, we mainly ate out around the park side hotel area and didnt actually make it into the centre of side as we had everything we needed close by. We did the boat trip to Manavgat, a day at Antalya where we visited Aspendos on the way, had a Turkish bath at park side hotel and went on jeep safari, all of which were brilliant. We had a good holiday. The complex is very nice and is situated in a family friendly part of Side. There was plenty of hot water for showers (something that has not always been the case when we have rented abroad) and the washing machine and dishwasher were of great benefit. Mark, Havant

Just to let you know we had a wonderful week at your apartment. The first 36 hours saw some of the best thunder storms i have seen in all my visits to Turkey, but that didn't spoil anything. The apartment is extremely well equipped with ample space. We went for a lovely meal at the Allaturca restaurant( out the gate, turn left & left again, just at the end of the road). I dont know if you have been there but they have an extensive menu of Turkish, English & even Indian cuisine. The staff are very attentive & the food was beautifully cooked & presented. We came to our home just after few hours ago, we were one night in Istanbul and after we came Finland we have to drive 800km to get back home. So it took little time :) But but, we liked a lot our holiday. Site and Side were awesome!!!! Like Gokhan said, "it´s like a home" and like home it was. Apartment has plenty of space and all equipments ready to use. Apartment was in good shape. People were kind (on site, Gokhan especially), security and maintenance man. Pool was great and in good condition. Garden also. Location of SGR is good, near by sea and places were to do daily shoppings (food etc.). Old Side were also great!
I said to Gokhan, we can recommend SGR to everyone, so much we like´d it. If someone in our friends ask good place to spend holiday we will recommend you and your apartment. We dont know do we have possibility to travel abroad anymore, but if we have we might come back to SGR again. We had a truly wonderful week. The weather was glorious every day, we managed Turkish Bath/Massage, plus a boat trip, days to the beach and I spent a lot of time both in the pool, and on a lounger around it. We had a lovely time at the Side Garden Residence and are certainly considering returning next year to the same apartment. The pool was great. Your agent Gokan was excellent when my husband needed a Doctor for a trapped nerve in his back, the Doctor arrived within 15 mins. Also the young man Barryjan behind the bar was totally trustworthy along with the rest of his family.
