Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Set back from the road at the end of a gravel path, this pretty brick and flint building has been imaginatively converted from its original purpose. The owners, who live next door in the former bakery, have refurbished The Bakehouse with immense care, providing a highly attractive base from which to explore this fascinating area. It thoroughly deserves its Visit Britain 4 stars grading.

Located at the edge of the pleasant and active village of Shrewton, The Bakehouse is well placed for visiting some of the country's finest prehistoric sites such as Stonehenge, Woodhenge and Avebury, as well as the World Heritage city of Bath, the cathedral city of Salisbury and the New Forest National Park. The market towns of Devizes, with the Kennet and Avon canal and Marlborough, with the Savernake Forest nearby, are also an easy drive. "Great place to stay"
The cottage is independent from the owners house, very beautiful, big and with all the amenities. There are two levels, downstairs with kitchen and eating area and upstairs with bedroom, small living … More
Thank you for your positive comments. The insight you've provided both about the cottage and attractions in the area, including nearby Stonehenge, will be very helpful for future visitors planning a stay here. Hideaways Reservations team.

Beautiful cottage which is very modern and clean. The bed was incredibly comfy as too was the 'snug.' The owners John and Sheila are lovely, kind people who made our stay extra special. We thoroughly enjoyed the welcome pack - especially the flap jacks and bottle of Rosé!
Ideally located, only 5 minutes from Stonehenge, 50 minutes from Bath and 45 minutes from McArthurGlen Designer Outlet for those who want a bargain! There's some great pubs/restaurants close by, as too are there some romantic strolls within the vicinity.
We just enjoyed every second of our stay and were sad to say 'goodbye.'
This cottage is a MUST on so many levels and you will NOT be disappointed!
Thank you for your positive feed-back about The Bakehouse, which I'm sure will be useful for other visitors. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Hideaways Reservations Team.
