Ivy Barn, as its name suggest, was originally a barn, built from traditional Grinshill sandstone. It has been lovingly restored to provide accommodation for groups of up to 4 people. Many of the barn’s original features have been incorporated into the conversion, such as oak beams, stone-slated floors and a wood-burning stove. All the accommodation is spread out over one floor and French windows from the sitting room lead to a small, charming garden; perfect for enjoying a spot of outdoor-dining in the summer months. Off-road parking for 2 cars is available, but the local shop is a short stroll away and the local pub is just over a mile away.

Telephone for outgoing calls (with honesty box). Fuel, power and starter pack of fuel for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Enclosed lawned garden, two decked patio areas and garden furniture. Sorry, no pets or smoking. Shop 5 mins walk, pub/restaurant 1.1 miles. Note: Access between kitchen and dining room has limited head room.
The Heart of England / Peak District / Shropshire region
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
The Shrewsbury / Clive area
Clive is a small village located around the west side of Grinshill Hill. Grinshill Hill is a local beauty spot and there is a nearby mine from which the Grinshill sandstone was excavated to be used in building the village of Clive. Attractions are wide and varied in this part of Shropshire and there is plenty for outdoor-types, such as walking and cycling. If you prefer to take things a bit easier, but still want to enjoy the stunning scenery, a boat-trip on the Severn will relax and inspire you. The nearby village of Wroxeter pays testament to the region’s historic past, having uncovered a myriad of Roman artefacts, such as the magnificent Roman Baths. There is even a Roman vineyard which still produces wine for sale to the public.

,A really great place to stay in a fascinating village. The cottage was beautifully converted with so much bare timber, full of fascinating books and artefacts, and the garden is a beautiful place to sit out in. Extremely comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and spacious living areas.

,The standard of the Barn is impeccable. We were amazed at the amount of personal property belonging to the owner available to use; books, maps etc. It also afforded good access either by Public Transport or car or many areas or walk or see without having to travel far. Lovely and warm.

,The village of Clive was so sleepy and peaceful, just what we were looking for, and the view from the lounge window of the church spire was gorgeous. The cottage was much bigger than we expected and a good base to see Chester and Shrewsbury etc. I loved it and didn't want to come home to be honest, and the price just made it such good value. I would definitely come again.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
