Shropshire- Where to begin? We've got it all, and we're modest too!
Situated on the welsh border, Shrewsbury is a superb base from which to enjoy the magic of Shropshire, and magical it is! Star struck Ludlow has more Mitchelin stars than any other town in England outside of the capital, and Shropshire boasts no less than 32 castles! So many enchanting interesting places to visit. Church Stretton, affectionally known as "Little Switzerland" is only 20 miutes away. Much Wenlock which inspired the creation of the modern olympics is about the same distance, as too is Bridgnorth with its high and low town and the wonderful Severn Valley Steam Railway (they'll even let you drive the old steam engine train). There is so much to see and do here, you could spend a week just on the surrounding area,
And then there's Shrewsbury!
The Shrewsbury / Central Shrewsbury area
Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire "Britains best kept secret". We've the Secret Hills of Craven Arms, all manner of shutts and Alleyways in the town centre and regular guided tours and ghost walks. Shrewsbury is steeped in history- both modern and ancient. Bet you can't find the face of Maggie Thatcher carved into the fretwork in the town centre! We're just a mile from the beautiful Dingle, breathtaking in the summer with it's fantastic display of colour. Why not visit Blists Hill at Ironbridge World Hertitage Centre, home of the Industrial Revolution? Attingham Park (National Trust) is literally 5 minutes down the road, with its magnificant grounds and famous deer park. Great restaurants, cinema, pubs and river walks all within walking distance--but you'd never believe it, it's so quiet! I bet you a stay at "Haughmond View" will be all you hoped it would be and more. A comfy classic home from home--Heaven Really!
