"Would definitely book again."

Smashing house, superbly equipped and a lovely rear garden. The house was clean, comfortable and only a short walk to the town centre. Would highly recommend and will book again.

"a very comfortable and well equipped house in a tranquil but convenient location"

The hosts Rhian and Phil are very friendly and helpful. My 14 year old son loves the welcome cookies that Rhian made. The shop "Spa" is just 2 mins away from the house. The 15-min walk along the river to town is simply a joy. I will definitely rent the house again when I fly over for my son's half term break in the years to come.

Thanks Helen, I'll have to make sure I make some extra shrewsbury biscuits for Henry when you stay next year. Looking forward to seeing you both again then.

"Clean, comfortable, superb, house to stay in."

No53 is a delightful house to stay in, everything you need is there to make your stay complete. I booked a 3 day stay as a surprise for my partner for his birthday with the family joining us later. Rhian is a delightful person and nothing is too much trouble, she even made a birthday cake for my partner which was a lovely touch. There is a local shop just 5 mins walk from the house which is handy and the walk into town took us about 10 mins where we found plenty of nice pubs which did lovely meals. My grandson loved the chickens and ducks at the bottom of the garden and the horses in the fields nearby, The weir is just around the corner and is an amazing sight. We were very lucky with the weather as we had sunshine for the whole stay. Will definitely return in the summer for another visit.

Thankyou Jo, what a lovely review. Hope to you soon

"Home from home"

No.53 is a very comfortable home from home, with everything you could want for a few days away. We booked 3 nights at the last minute & Rhian was a pleasure to deal with, it was all booked & paid for within a couple of hours.
Everywhere is extremely clean & well maintained throughout.
The master bedroom is very roomy with a very modern en suite shower room & large walk-in wardrobe. The kitchen is really well equipped with loads of crockery, cutlery & glasses. The house was lovely & warm & the woodburning stove was lit to greet us. Fresh milk, tea, coffee & sugar was provided as well as a bottle of Merlot & a lovely bunch of daffs.
When we next visit Shrewsbury, we will definitley choose 53 again, it would be nice to visit in the Summer & take advantage of the lovely garden.

Thankyou Sue, I hope to welcome you again soon!

"A perfect home away from home"

We came across No. 53 whilst looking for somewhere to stay whilst visiting family over Christmas. This is the first time we've booked a house whilst in Shrewsbury as we usually stay with local family or in a hotel. I can honestly say the house was perfect. So much so that we are hoping that it will be available the next time we visit.

The communication with the owner, Rhian, before, during and after our stay was fantastic. We really appreciated the milk and chocolate waiting for us on our late arrival :)

We are very familiar with Shrewsbury and were pleased to find the location down by the river in Castlefields which is extremely central for pretty much anywhere you might want to visit.

The house itself is lovely, beautifully clean and very well equipped. There was everything that we could possibly need from basic cooking utensils to things such as spare pillows, board games etc. There were plenty of leaflets and lots of local information available for people who might not be so familiar with the area.
Unfortunately we didn't get to use the garden due to the weather, but we had a look around and it is very well tended to. You can hear the River Severn too, which is a stone throw from the garden, and literally a minute walk.

As the house is situated in a residential area the only parking available is on street, which can be a bit tight at times but we had no problem parking close to the house during the 4 days we stayed.

We've already recommended the property to several others. We absolutely loved our stay and, if pushed for one, we would not be able to come up with a single negative. In fact, we're already working out when we'll next be in the area so we can book again.
