The East Anglia / Norfolk region
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an area of natural beauty and is, therefore, extremely popular with birdwatchers, walkers, families and those who simply want to enjoy the beautiful undulating countryside. There are numerous activities such as: Boat trips to the nature reserve to see the seals from Blakeney or Morston. Swimming in The Splash Tropical Pool, Sheringham which has a large slide and wave machine! Sheringham also has a beach but the best in the area is Holkham and well worth a visit (charge for parking). Holkham Hall is also open to the public. Sheringham Park (National Trust) with its beautiful grounds, especially in May & June (spectacular display of rhododendrons), is also open to the public. The Dinosaur Park at Lenwade is a popular attraction for the children - approx. 40 minutes' drive. Alternatively a bit further afield is the Sandringham Estate open to the public when the Queen is not in residence. Langham Glass factory is near Blakeney. You can watch glass in the making, visit the factory shop and enjoy tea/coffee or lunch in their cafe. Holt is just 3 miles inland and is a very pretty Georgian town with hotels, antique shops, expensive ladies' clothes shops, restaurants (in good food guide). For shopping, ten pin bowling, and nightlife, the cathedral city of Norwich is just 45 minutes drive away
Sheringham / Weybourne area
Webourne is a pretty village with churches, hotel, village shop and public house and the shingle beach is just a few minutes away. Here you will see anglers fishing from the beach. There is a coastal footpath from the beach to Sheringham - just three miles away to the ease and to Cley and beyond to the west. For the golfer there is a course at Sheringham and also at West Runton.
