The Dairy is one of 4 cottages grouped around a beautiful courtyard garden that belong to At the Farm on the Knowle Estate. This cottage has a bright, English country cottage style interior. It sleeps 3 in two bedrooms-one double and one single with room for a Z bed (£20) or cot (no charge). The living room comfortably seats 3 and has a wooden floor, wood burner, flat screen TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and curved glass shower screen. All bedding and linen provided. The kitchen/diner is well equipped, with cooker, fridge/freezer, dish washer and microwave and seating for 4 people.

Outside -The Stable has its own area with table, chairs and BBQ (in the summer months). There is ample parking, a children's play area with swing set, slide and trampoline and forty acres of organic farmland to explore.

The Estate and its farmhouse were created in 1350 and was originally owned by Glastonbury Abbey. It rests comfortably in one of those hidden valleys of rural Somerset where the only traffic noise you'll ever hear is the clip clop of the occasional horse or perhaps the postman's van. Set in the rural centre of the triangle that is formed by Wells, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury, The Cowshed will welcome you and your family to a comfortable country retreat which you can use to relax or as a base to explore the interesting surrounding area.

There are many wonderful attractions within striking distance of At the Farm. You can marvel at the magnificent cathedral in England's smallest city, Wells, or find that undiscovered Canaletto at the famous antique markets held at the Royal Bath and West showground several times a year. This part of Somerset is steeped in history with Glastonbury one of the nearest and most famous points of interest. Legend has it that King Arthur was buried in the Abbey and there is certainly something mysterious about the place and a climb up the Tor, which you can see from the estate, will not be forgotten. In the neighbouring village of Pilton other legends perform to a vast and appreciative crowd and the Glastonbury Festival has worldwide fame.

Wookey Hole Caves and Longleat are both within easy reach and famous centres for all the family to enjoy. Bath is less than an hours drive.

So whether it's a long or short holiday, a visit to one of the local schools or a stopover on business, At the Farm will provide the accommodation you need.

Wookey Hole Caves and Longleat are both within easy reach and famous centres for all the family to enjoy. There are probably too many pubs and restaurants to choose from. These will vary from the back of beyond spit and sawdust Somerset cider houses with shove-halfpenny boards and strange sounding locals to Farrow and Ball gastro delights serving fine fresh cooked feasts with wine to match. We'll be happy to point you in the right direction for your particular pallet and pocket.

"Too short..."

Spent 2 nights at The Dairy, would have liked to stay longer. Lovely cosy cottage with 2 bedrooms, comfortably accommodated our group with 2 small children and 3 adults. Requested high chair and cot was ready in the Dairy upon arrival (wooden cot, not a portable one). Very quiet location, great play area for the kids. Good kitchen and only a short drive into town brings you to a huge Tesco. Staff excellent at promptly responding to emails.

"The perfect get-away"

The Dairy is a building on the grounds of the Knowle Farm, set along the beautiful courtyard. It has a wonderful atmosphere: You drive down a long track to the edge of a valley, which feels timeless a… More

We think At the Farm has a special atmosphere which is partly from the lovely surrounding countryside and also maybe from the history of the place, as it originally belonged to Glastonbury Abbey. We are pleased that our guests feel this sense of calm and tranquility also when visiting At the Farm.

"PEACEFUL, BEAUTIFUL, CHILLED LOCATION"

We spent 2 nights here exploring the surrounding attractions with our 2 children (10 & 5..so ideal for Wookey Hole & Cheddar Gorge. The kids adored the cottage & were thrilled to have their own little play area including trampoline. The accommodation was well equipped & very clean. The owners were happy to leave us to ourselves but were more than happy to help out with recommendations of places to visit or eat if we needed them. We would thoroughly recommend & would not hesitate to stay if we are in the area again.
