The Yorkshire region
Sheffield and the Peak District - two interdependent locations one providing the water to drive the early industrial revolution and the other taking advantage of it's rolling foothills. Sheffield renowned for having more trees in it's suburbs than any other industrial city and with a very warm and welcoming population makes it a very pleasant destination. Two theatres, two Universities, a large international music venue and many museums enhances it's deserved cultural reputation. And if you are into sport two football teams, Ice Hockey, Speedway and Rugby League cannot fail to provide something of interest. And many walks up into the Peak District or across the post-industrial landscape of the lower Don Valley provides contrasting alternatives.
