The Apartment sleeps a maximum of 4 people; children under 5 years of age cannot be accommodated as regulated by our insurance cover. Also, we cannot accept pets of any kind.

The kitchen comprises a full size electric cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery which are all contained with-in the stylishly-built units, along with an iron and counter-top ironing board. There is also an airer/dryer for hand washed/rinsed through items.

Separated from the kitchen by a prep counter we have a plush 2 and 3 seater sofa in the living area along with a separate dining table and chairs for your meals.

We do have a rather large TV with SKY Freeview and a DVD player, a cosy fireplace with an electric working wood burning effect stove, but that’s just for show as I am sure you won’t need it during the hot summer months! For the cooler part of the year, (early Spring or late Autumn nights) there are 2 additional Oil filled radiators supplied if needed. Alternatively when the weather is at its best you might feel the need to use the Air Cooling Fan to cool down the Apartment!!!

The bathroom has a corner bath with an electric shower, sink, heated towel rail and a full size toilet!

You also have a private patio, equipped with your own patio table, chairs and parasol, where you can eat, drink and enjoy the surrounding panoramic view of the Bay. Spend hot sunny days or balmy summer nights sitting on your patio lazily watching the world go by after eating here or dining out at one of many fantastic eateries – some I can recommend really close by, others further inland.

The bedrooms consist of a double room and a twin bedded room; both have a wardrobe, dressing table and bedside cabinet(s) with touch lighting lamps. The beds are made-up for your arrival, but we do not supply towels.

We can also offer WiFi for those who either feel the need that they “just have to check up on” work or for those that can’t go without Facebook™!

There is an allocated parking space for one car at the back of the Apartment.

We include a "welcome pack" for those new to the Island to help you find your way around,or for the seasoned Island visitor to re-fresh your memory of how many beautiful places there are to visit.

We also supply Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Hot Chocolate, Cappuccino Sachets and Milk so you can have a light refreshment once you have arrived and settled in before you have to go and do your shopping. Directions to the major supermarkets can be found in our Welcome Pack.

The beds ( 1 double room and 1 twin room ) are made up for your arrival.

We do not though supply any beach/bath towels, apart from tea towels for kitchen use.

Cancellation

We hope you understand that we must have a cancellation policy in place to ensure that people cannot book the apartment casually without intent to stay. We would encourage you to take out insurance against unavoidable cancellations – in any case, if you need to cancel, please contact us at the earliest opportunity to explain your reason for cancellation.

We reserve the right to charge the following if your stay is cancelled after booking:

More than 60 days before due arrival: the deposit

60-30 days before arrival: 50% of the cost of the stay

Less than 30 days before arrival: 100% of the cost of the stay

The Isle of Wight region

Shanklin Esplanade has been receiving a major re-vamp over the past couple of years ranging from the new Pirate Golf at the start of the Esplanade, to new a new cafe called Sail 'n' Surf which is situated next to the Rowing Club right on the beach. In front of SEAGULL VIEW, there is a cafe, Cole's Bazaar and Snackery, that offers a range of Tea's Coffee's and light snacks to either have on the patio frontage or to take away to the beach or for your journey home. There are plenty of Inn's, Hotels and other cafe's along the Esplanade. So if you come without transport you will not have to venture far for good food, fine beverages and local hospitality.

Throughout the Summer the Isle of Wight plays hosts to many world wide events, The Isle of Wight Festival (June), Bestival (September), Cowes Week Sailing Regatta (August), Annual Walking Festival (May), and many many County Shows that take place among our many beautiful villages. In fact there is hardly a weekend that does not have one event or another!

There is also over 500 miles of footpaths, and stretches of stunning coastline, the Isle of Wight is perfect for a walking holiday or a family break. Enjoy the unspoilt scenery, or have an activity filled vacation with sailing, windsurfing and paragliding all on offer locally. We have many cycle tracks across the Island. The Island is world famous for the annual Cowes Week Regatta event in late August, and in May it hosts the largest walking festival anywhere in the UK.

Shanklin

Shanklin is most famed for its good weather and the pretty Old Village, which is located on the south side of the town, towards Ventnor and Bonchurch. The village is extremely pretty and most tourists head to the area for the thatched cottages, quaint shops and old fashioned tea rooms, thatched public houses, and attractive surroundings.

In the heart of The Old Village are several pubs which are attractive and provide good food and a great venue for a lively evening. Just past the entrance to The Crab Inn is the start of Shanklin Chine, a deep gorge carved out by a stream, which is a restful and picturesque place to spend the morning or afternoon and you exit right next to the beach and can refresh yourself in Fisherman's Cottage. In the evening the waterfalls and woodland are illuminated, giving the gardens a totally different aspect and atmosphere, a must see if you are visiting Shanklin.

"A welcoming and comfortable apartment in a great location."

I booked this apartment based on its good reviews and location and was not disappointed. Sara made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The accommodation is equipped with everything you could need and a lot of thought has also gone into the local information available in the info folder and leaflets. The nice sized terrace is a lovely spot for eating outside or just sitting gazing at the sea. The apartment is literally across the road from the beach and there are some nice places to eat very nearby. We had a wonderful week with wall to wall sunshine and really enjoyed our stay.

"Perfect accommodation for a beach holiday"

A warm welcome from Sara into a comfortable, clean and well equipped holiday home. Everything you need for a week away and Sara is nearby for anything that you might need. Perfect for a couple or a small family, especially if you plan on spending time on the beach as you can easily pop back to get drinks or make a picnic. Shanklin is a great location for self catering with several supermarkets close by to choose from and a variety of places to eat out nearby for when you can't be bothered. The designated parking space at the back of the apartments is good too, and public parking is also available on the esplanade and is free from 6 pm to 10 am which is good option if you have an especially large car. All in all a great holiday home in a superb location. We will be pleased to return in the future.
