Lounge Diner

A large area with double bed settee option for sleeping an additional 1-2 people. Large bay window offering breathtaking views of the sea and your own private patio. From here you have access to your own private patio and 6 person hot tub.

Kitchen

A large kitchen area adjacent to the lounge that includes dishwasher, combined washing machine and tumble dryer, fridge, freezer, gas hob, gas oven and microwave

Communal Area

From your private patio you have direct access to the shared lawned garden which includes childrens play area and benches.

The Mountbatten Garden Apartment in Shanklin Villa is part of the family run Garden Isle Hotels, a local company with over 20 years experience on the Isle of Wight. Guests of Shanklin Villa have unlimited free use of the indoor and outdoor leisure facilities at the nearby Luccombe Hotels.

The outdoor facilities of both hotels share a stunning 4 acre clifftop location and can be accessed from either Luccombe Hall Hotel or Luccombe Manor Hotel.

Both hotels have an ample on site car parking or you may prefer to walk as it is just a short stroll from Shanklin Villa.

A security deposit of £200 per rental is required with your final balance payment. This is refunded following an apartment check on your departure.
To secure your booking a deposit is payable. the balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.

The Isle of Wight region

The Isle of Wight is the UK's most popular holiday island and has one of the mildest climates in the country along with being one of the sunniest places in the UK.

The Isle of Wight is very small being diamond shaped and measuring just 16 miles by 23 miles. This adds to being a great holiday destination as everywhere is within easy travelling distance. The isle of Wight became a fashionable place to holiday in the Victorian era after Queen Victoria opened a summer home at Osborne House in East Cowes. The towns of Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde are the most popular tourism resorts on the island with the West Wight being more rural.

Over half of the Isle of Wight is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty with 60 miles of beaches including heritage coastline. For those who like walking and cycling you'll never be bored as the island boasts over 500 miles of well maintained clearly signposted routes and pathways. The Isle of Wight is home to the biggest annual walking festivals which occur in May and September each year.

For families the Isle of Wight is absolutely packed full of things to do and attractions to visit. The Needles is probably the most famous of all island destinations and here you can enjoy a chairlift ride that takes you from the clifftop down to the beach giving you a birds eye view of the stunning coloured sands that this area of Alum Bay is famous for as well as the 3 rocky stacks and lighthouse that you can get closer to on a short boat trip.
Blackgang Chine offers many surprises and goes down in history as being the first theme park in the world to open! It is also well known for it's Disappearing Village attraction.

Cowes in the North of the island is world renown for it's yachting and sailing events throughout the year.
There are many places of historical interest open to visitors including Queen Victoria's Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Appuldurcombe House and many more.

The Shanklin area

Shanklin nestles in the South East of the Isle of Wight and has a wonderful mild climate with above average days of sunshine. Shanklin Villa is located just a few minutes walk away from Shanklin Beach and Esplanade. Along the Esplanade you can hire deckchairs, play crazy golf/putting let children work off energy with the indoor play areas and get some light refreshments from cafes and bars. There is a stunning Cliff Walk 2 minutes from your apartments that takes you to Sandown and offers some stunning views of the sea. For an easier walk you can go along the sandy beach or Esplanade.

A few minutes walk from the apartments takes you in to Shanklin Old Village with its traditional thatched cottages. Here you'll also find Shanklin Chine with it's deep gorge and waterfalls. Shanklin Town Centre is close by with it's high street shops and supermarkets.

There are 3 main car ferry terminals to the Isle of Wight. Wightlink offer car ferry travel from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Lymington to Yarmouth. Red Funnel offer car ferry travel from Southampton to East Cowes. If you are travelling via public transport then you can also take the Hovercraft as a foot passenger from Southsea to Ryde, the Wightlink catamaran from portsmouth Harbour to Ryde, or the redjet from Southampton to Cowes.

“Best break on Isle of Wight” Have just stayed at Mountbatten garden apt. I found it through google and wanted apartment for 5 of us with a hot tub. The pictures on website are spot on. Carol who I dealt with as a last minute booking was just amazingly helpful and sorted us out so quickly within 2 days. When we arrived we were shown around this massive apartment which was spectacular the furnishings and flooring and towels were top class definetely 5 star, the kitchen was so huge and if you love cooking it is fab! Everything was there for us and the hot tub seats 5 comfortably and was used everyday just amazing and the view out to sea was superb. I would highly recommend this property as it is also central to Shanklin shops and beach the best accommodation and service I have used in UK. Will definetely return. the garden as well is large with a beautiful hut with slide for the kids and well maintained garden.

“excellent accommodation,” I have stayed here twice recently, first time with with mine and another family over the New year period, second time with a group of girls for birthday weekend. I've stayed in the Eversley and the Mountbatten garden apartment. Both the accommodations are finished to a very high standard and spacious. The apartments are a great base to explore the island, and are walking distance from the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. I would definitely recommend the apartments and am looking to book again soon.

“Fabulous Shanklin Villas - sea views, hot tub perfect getaway all year round” This is our second stay at Shanklin Villas and certainly won't be our last. We wanted to see what the Isle was like in the winter and it didn't disappoint. We love the location of the villas, a short walk to the old town and beach. The hot tub with sea views was a big hit with the kids and adults alike. The quality of the apartments is second to none...we feel very relaxed, there is plenty of room and each bedroom has a TV. Overall we would highly recommend the Shanklin Villa Apartments.

“will always remember our stay” 4 sisters rented the apartment for a 3 night break to celebrate eldest sister's 60th birthday. The apartment was perfect in every way, 4 bedrooms each with ensuite, a wonderful private hot tub which we enjoyed each day. Weather could not have been better considering it was November, mild and calm. Carol met us on arrival and showed us everything in the apartment which we appreciated, so often you are left to find everything for yourself on arrival. Enjoyed our visit to Osborne House and Arreton village. it was so nice to walk from the apartment to find places to eat and to shop in Shanklin. Had a lovely meal at the Crab Inn and Spice Mango indian restaurant. We will certainly stay again.

“Great Value for Money, clean and fab location.” The appartments are very clean and spacious. Its modern and furished with good quality furnishings. The garden and play area is great for kids. Its in a great location, close to the sea and to the local shops. Great value for money. On the down side the access is via stairs which proved challenging with small children (although there is access through the garden with no stairs it is a longer way round) and limited parking if you have a large party. Overall - great place to stay.

“Luxury holiday let with private hot tub” Beautifully presented comfortable apartment with hot tub. Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. Ideal for large group of friends (there were ten of us) although as all bathrooms en suite, the people on the sofabed didn't get their own bathroom! Lovely views over the sea, location at the nice end of Shanklin.

“Quality, Value, Style!” I searched high and low on the Isle of Wight to find accommodation for 6 adults and three children and thought I would not find what we needed. Suddenly I came upon Shanklin Villas and was amazed at what they offered. Frankly, I thought it was too good to be true. How happy am I to report that I was very wrong. Shanklin Villas ( Mountbatten Apt) is really fantastic. The pictures, although good, do not do it justice. It is a beautifully appointed and presented apt with pretty much everything you might need for a full family vacation. Now it even has a french press ( cafetiere) as we left the one that we purchased. The rooms are all good sizes and have very comfortable beds with fantastic bedding, all with well equipped en-suite bathrooms. It's like having an Hotel suites rolled into one. Shanklin Villas is very close to the centre of Shanklin ( 5 mins) and also to the cliff top or beachfront walks. Honestly, I can't imagine finding better accommodation anywhere in Shanklin. The property also has Wi-Fi which for some reason they do not mention on their website. It was my wife that pointed out to me that the reason that Shanklin Villas is so good is that the owners also run two Hotels on the island and really understand what their clientele want. Really, they have not missed a thing.

“Couldn't ask for more!!!” We rented the Mountbatten Apt. and it was the perfect place for a large group. We our a family of 6 (11, 9, 6, 1) and traveled with my in-laws and 2 aunts. Total of 10 of us. The price was unbelievable for the amt of space we got. There were tons of bedrooms, large sitting room and dining area and everything we needed (fully stocked kitchen). The gift wine was a nice touch. Staff were very friendly when I was booking the stay and answered numerous questions. The kids loved the hot tub outside and used it every day. The beach was not really seen from the apt as it was on the other side of the street, but it was a very close walk to town and the beach which had lots of places to eat in each. Everyone was very happy with the accommodations.
