This cottage is located in the heart of the village, a stones throw away from everything including the beach and ferry to Teignmouth. It's lovely to have the benefit of the smallvillage but the convenience of Teignmouth such a pleasant and short trip across the estuary. The cottage itself is clearly very well looked after by the owners. It looked newly decorated and everything was so clean. It was a very practical layout but the homely touches such as soft furnishings and ornaments made it feel very welcoming yet remaining child friendly. The bedrooms were delightful. The double room on the top floor is very spacious and had the lovely feature of opening out onto a small balcony which was a great place to spend an hour with a glass of wine watching the sun go down after the children go to bed. The owners with whom I booked directly were very helpful and I would recommend Paddle Cottage to anyone. |

Beautiful, clean and well equipped cottage in the heart of Shaldon, close to the shops where you can buy all you need for your stay. Pubs all close by - tried 4 but I think there was another, all great and some lovely food available. 5 minute walk to the beach where you can be ferried to Teignmouth for a change of scenery if you need it. The cottage reflects the essence of Shaldon, compact, tasteful and everything that you might need for a lovely break on the Devon coast. Only downside is the village is tiny and parking is difficult. Find a place and be prepared to leave your car there until hometime. |
