"Lovely, relaxing stay at Rooster Hall"
We really enjoyed our stay at Rooster Hall. The cottage was lovely, clean and well equipped with a gorgeous garden. Shaldon beach and shops were within walking distance and we went out and about by car to other nearby beaches. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday at Rooster Hall and would definitely recommend it to others.

"Great place and great location"
We have given 5 stars because this was ideal for us. The cottage layout was ideal for the two families and the dog. The location was was great for the village and general area. The garden is dog friendly and even our escape artist terrier gave up trying to get out. The cot and high chair supplied were of good quality. There is everything you need and the Hungarian goose down featherbed was luxurious. Overall, we had a great week.

"A fantastic place to stay - clean, comfortable and full of character!"
We stayed at Rooster Hall for my husband's birthday and had a really lovely time. The house offered us plenty of room to spread out and was very well furnished and accessorized. The local area is really nice too, with lots of small lanes and stone cottages to admire. Thoroughly recommended!

"Clean, well appointed, good location...I would recommend!"
We go every Easter and have stayed in quite a few cottages - we liked this one, both inside and out, the location is very good too...Shaldon and the Teign Estuary are both picturesque, and we liked Teignmouth as a traditional seaside town. Its also close enough to Exeter and Torbay but much more relaxing. The cottage was clean and generally well appointed with decent furniture, kitchen and bathroom facilities that were all well maintained. Just one observation for those with young children, the two upstairs bedrooms are a long way away from the downstairs 'master' which may be an issue for some, for us, it couldn't have worked out better with teenagers wanting their own space. I would, and have already, recommended this cottage to friends

We had a blissful holiday at Rooster Hall. The owners certainly know how to make life easy and comfortable for their guests. Everything worked and the house and garden are exceptionally attractive. I would not hesitate to recommend the house to others, as long as I don't find it fully booked next time I'd like to visit!

Shaldon is a lovely Devon fishing village. If you want to stay in a lovely old thatched cottage with garden, BBQ and minutes walk from the estuary and ten mins walk to centre of village and sandy beach then Rooster Hall is for you. We loved it so much we have Re-booked for May of this year and will continue to come down. Highly recommended.

"Absolute gem of a holiday house!!"
We had the pleasure of staying at Rooster Hall during late June & formed an immediate attachment to this beautiful house - so much so, we stayed for an extra unplanned night! The house is both comfortable & welcoming with good facilities coupled with a gorgeous garden where we spent most evenings enjoying a g&t & a BBQ surrounded by fragrant roses. The village of Shaldon is within easy walking distance & offers some excellent pubs & shops (the bakery & butchers are amazing!) & it is also easy to walk across the bridge into Teignmouth. We spent our time walking the coastal paths & surrounding countryside which were simply beautiful & spent time on Ness beach which is a vast expanse of sand & shallow waters. We loved this location & will certainly be retuning visitors to Rooster Hall.

"Toasty warm cottage!"
Despite the bitterly cold weather we enjoyed a weeks stay at Rooster Hall over Easter. The cottage was lovely and warm and extremely inviting to come home to after a brisk walk down the local village. We loved the fact that good facilities such as children's park, shop, cafe's and pubs were all within walking distance from the cottage. The cottage is well kept and nicely decorated throughout with all modern appliances. Shame we didn't get the weather to enjoy the garden.

"Lovely cozy family cottage"
We hired Roster hall in January and had a lovely stay. It's a beautiful old thatched Devon long house with walls a few feet thick so once the heating as been on it stays warm and cozy despite the cold January weather and snow. There was heavy rain and gales one night during our stay, and we slept right through as you couldn't hear a thing through the walls! The house is well positioned and in walking distance of the beaches and pubs/shops of Shaldon. The garden is well kept with a nice BBQ area that we would have made use of had it been warmer. The house is well kitted out, especially for a toddler / young children, with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Throughly recommended for a relaxing family holiday!

"Third Time at Rooster Hall"
We’ve just had our third stay at Rooster Hall and fifth trip to Shaldon. We are a group of six girlfriends who like walking, eating out, socialising and generally having a laugh! Rooster Hall is perfect for us. The cottage has plenty of room, with two excellently appointed bathrooms and very comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want, if you feel the need to cook that is, and the dining/living rooms are cosy areas to relax in. The location of the cottage is perfect too. A little way out of the village so it’s really quiet when you want to have a rest and just a short walk into the village when you want activity. Rooster Hall is approx a 10 minute stroll into the centre of Shaldon (if you follow the directions from the owner) and is situated uphill from Shaldon, which gives you an excellent view of the estuary as you walk down to the village. The garden is fabulous and there is a pleasant sheltered seating area just outside the back door, that we even manage to use when we visit in November, so it must be absolutely glorious in the summer months!!! Plenty of parking too. Although, we have always caught the train to Teignmouth and used the local cabs (cheap and reliable) if we didn't want to use our legs. All appliances/heating are easy to use and the cottage is absolutely immaculate, a real credit to the owners and the housekeeper. It’s so comfortable; we really do consider it home when we are in Shaldon. Just a little tip… if like us you tend to come back to the cottage after dark(!) make sure you leave the outside light on or take a little torch out with you, it will make life easier when you come to get the key out of the key safe!! Shaldon/Teignmouth are excellent for a gentle relaxing time. There are lovely walks up past The Ness Hotel and out onto Labrador Bay. Plenty of places to eat and drink (the Ferry Boat in Shaldon being a favorite of ours). The whole place is really welcoming and we have had some fabulous times there. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for a lovely break.
