Harp House, dating back to 1870 has been lovingly renovated to provide a great family home which is comfortable & stylish and offers a great space to spend quality time with family & friends.
The property is able to accommodate 12 guests over 3 floors with the ground floor offering its own self contained apartment, great for grand parents or those less able to cope with the stairs, we also allow your four legged friend in the ground floor of the property.

The living areas are light and spacious. The main kitchen is fully equipped with all the usual mod cons and the open plan dining area which seats up to 8 is great for socialising and dining. The kitchen leads on the terrace with outside seating for 8.
If travelling with babies Harp house is extremely baby friendly, we have stair gates fitted where necessary, 2 high chairs and a cot available to use.
Harp House is perfectly situated on the main Fore St, just a 2 minute walk from all that Shaldon has to offer including the beach, the butchers, bakers & small shops.

Harp House provides luxury accommodation for up to 12 Guests.
The first floor comprises a large social open plan kitchen /dining area.The kitchen has fully integrated appliances, eye level oven and microwave (out of little mischief's way), granite worktops and large free standing fridge/freezer.
TV with an i pod dock.
There is a large oak dining table which comfortably sits 8 is great for evenings in, or Al fresco dining on the terrace decked area accessed by french doors from the kitchen.
Dark oak flooring, leather sofa's, gas fuelled log burning stove and beautiful victorian full length doors that open out to a balcony overlooking the village.
Flat screen TV and DVD player.
Wash room on first floor.
Bright and airy, white washed bunk beds (5'8" length) & tallboy, super for the young ones.
With views of the village, this is a bright and airy bedroom. Featuring a double bed, 2 big sash windows & an original fireplace.
Also with views over the village, furnished with 2 single beds, built in wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

The south west coastal paths offer some great walking and fantastic scenery, there is plentiful opportunity to sail, dive or fish and as for beaches, Dawlish warren has one of the top 5 in the country carrying the prestigious blue flag award, which is great for families.
Whatever your age and whatever the weather south devon is the perfect place for a fantastic holiday.
The area is well served by the A38 & M5 providing easy access to busier tourist resorts of Exeter, Paignton, Torquay & Brixham.
Shaldon is a beautiful unspoilt seaside town nestled on the banks of the River Teign, offering everything you would expect from a British summer holiday. The village boasts 4 pubs all offering something different and all serving good British food.
Within walking distance you can find the Shaldon wildlife centre, dedicated to conversation and fascinating to all enquiring minds, the botanical gardens and the smugglers cove.
From June to September Shaldon hosts the "1785" Day. Every Wednesday a craft fair and farmers market takes place on the village green between 10am & 4pm. This is followed by entertainment for the children including maypole dancing and Punch & Judy.
The first Saturday of August Shaldon Water carnival takes place, one not to be missed, followed by a party and bar-be-que on the village green.
Teignmouth which sits opposite Shaldon and can be reached by the foot ferry has all the qualities of a traditional holiday resort. The victorian pier, the lido, the fantastic children's play area for all ages and of course the beautiful beach.

"Harp House is a hidden gem in a village stepping back in time"
A wonderful family holiday with something for everyone. A short walk to the beach for the younger kids and a hop on the passenger ferry to Teignmouth for everything else you can need. Harp House is beautifully appointed with every convenience. With a party of two adults, Grandma and kids ranging from 9 months to 18 years there was always enough space to either be together or have our own time. Parking just down the road so not a problem as you can pull up outside to unload/pack etc. Plenty of lovely restaurants and pubs if you need them - and don't miss the Wednesday night Shaldon regular 'show' on the green! A community feel for a lovely holiday.

"Making the most of Devon when down for a family wedding"
We had a great stay! The house was excellent, it had everything we needed and was really clean. We even arrived to find a bottle of wine, bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee etc!
The owners were really helpful when we had to change arrangements late on so everything went smoothly.
It is well situated, with easy access to lots of places well worth visiting and the village of Shaldon is a very nice base- good pubs, local butchers, bakery and a post office. We'd definitely recommend staying there!

My family and I had the great pleasure of staying in Hap House on two occasions. I have to speak as I find and say that I think Harp House is stunning and luxurious. With no expense spared on fixtures and fittings.
The owner Kelly could not have been more helpful and always available.
Whether you are a family with young children or teenagers I think Harp House has everything you could want or need, from travel cot, baby monitor, high chair, toys and stairgates to a tv with ipod doc and a collection of books, dvds and games. Even if you are an all adult group this house is the perfect getaway and close to pubs, shops and restaurants.

"Lovely House and Village, great location for exploring"
Ideally situated in a small village within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants. Recommend The Clipper Cafe for breakfast and evening meals which overlooks the estuary. The house has all the amenities required and is finished to a high standard throughout. The garage is ideal as parking in the village is very restricted. We thoroughly enjoyed our break at Harp House and will hopefully return.

"Beautiful family home , well equipped and perfectly located ."
We stayed at Harp house in July . It is very well located in the high street, parking is limited but the garage is a very short walk away and ideal . We didnt use our car as the everything is within walking distance . The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need .Beautiful bathrooms and lovely comfy beds .Very modern kitchen, includes all appliances you need . Home from home My Children loved it .The breakfast basket and wine was an extra bonus and booking and key collection perfect . Shaldon is a beautiful village , perfect base for touring the south coast . Lovely restaurants , try the tapas on tuesday nights - beautiful!
Hope to visit again .
