The Inland Andalucia / Sevilla Province region
A direct link between Europe and Africa, and the place where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean, Andalusia has been fought over by numerous cultures since the earliest times of civilization.
In Andalusia, contrasts are the norm. The diversity of the landscapes which make up the region provides an entire spectrum: from the warm Guadalquivir valley, to leafy low mountain areas, from volcanic landscapes such as the Tabernas Desert to the white peaks of Sierra Nevada.
Andalusia´s main river, the Guadalquivir,is a source of life all along its journey across Andalusian territory. Within forty kilometres it is possible to travel from this alpine landscape to the tropical shores of the Mediterranean. The Andalusian coast, almost 900 km long, is home to a large number of towns and beaches, the delight of those who visit them.
Seville / Central Sevilla area
Seville, rich millenary heiress of different cultures that settled along the shores of the Guadalquivir River, preserves and pampers its world famous monumental architecture. At the same time it proudly and brilliantly treasures mysterious secrets that romantic authors attempted to release in mythical works such as Carmen, The Barber of Seville or Don Juan, amongst many others. The best way to visit Seville is on foot, by walking through its streets and admiring its beauty. Though there are many other ways to get around, especially recommended to people who don't have much time available. There are tourist buses which make stops at the most representative areas of the city, all during the course of one hour. A cruise along the Guadalquivir River allows for time to enjoy beautiful views of both shores, while admiring bridges built during different periods of history. A typically lovely way to visit Seville is on a horse driven carriage route along restricted areas closed to automotive traffic. Other people prefer to tour the city on bike, while the most adventurous try hot air ballooning. If one prefers an in-depth historical and art account of Seville, the best way to visit the city is with a guided tour.
How to get there
Seville, considered one of the great European cities with regards to an urban setting that blends with surrounding rural communities, is today the best communicated city in Spain. Endowed and strategically situated, Seville is the last great metroplis of Southern Europe. Characterized by varied and efficient accessibility, Seville has not only become a tourist destination, but also the best equipped port in all of Andalusia. The Guadalquivir River hosts a first class port, the only interior port in Spain. It supports intense traffic from tourist cruises as well as regular commercial shipping lines. The Santa Justa Train Station, built by Seville architects, Cruz & Ortiz, have received various European awards. This station serves as an important hub for connections between the Andalusian capital and all of the Autonomous Regions of Spain and Europe. Major train lines from Madrid, Malaga and Granada converge here. The AVE, (high speed train) provides service to Madrid in just two and a half hours. A trip to Cordoba takes only 40 minutes. The construction of a new rail line network has proven to be crucial in decongesting the historical centre which had become completely asfixiated by the unrelenting growth of traffic. The new San Pablo International Airport, built by internationally acclaimed architect, Rafael Moneo, is located just 10 km from the city centre. It was designed to receive some 8 millions travelers per year and offers regular flights to all major European and Spanish capital cities. Renovated highway and access roads and rapid beltways provide precise connections to all neuralgic points of the city and its surroundings. Seville has now become one of Spain's best connected cities by road, with highways connecting all Andalusian capitals as well as Madrid and Portugal. There are direct flights from major European cities until Seville (Iberia, British Airways, lufhtansa, Ryanair ..). Malaga international airport is located at 1: 30 hours by train from downtown Seville. Seville is perfectly connected with the rest of Andalucia and Spain by magnificent highway and high-speed lines. Whether you go by taxi or bus the apartments are 10 minutes from the airport. The house is situated in the historic centre of Seville, 2 minutes walk from the main monuments, shops and restaurants.
