Newly refurbished character property in the heart of a traditional fishing town built at the mouth of the river Sado. The bay boasts its own resident bottlenose dolphin population and is flanked by the green Arrabida mountains. Rich in cultural heritage and off the usual tourist trail, Setubal has the luxury of being situated not only within easy reach of all that Lisbon has to offer but also close to several different beaches and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
The house itself has a double bedroom, living and dining space, well equipped kitchen and outside space for dining. It provides a comfortable base from which to explore the area and is within minutes walk to cafes and restaurants if you don't feel like cooking.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region
Sunny Setubal is set overlooking the estuary of the river Sado. In Roman times it was an important settlement for the preservation of fish using the salting process.There are Roman ruins to be found on the south side of the estuary mouth on the peninsular of Troia .The sea facing side of the peninsula is the beginning of 50 km of white sandy beach that stretches along the Alentejano Coast.
On the north side of the estuary heading westerly a number of beaches can be discovered. Some are quiet and remote whilst others have cafes and pedalos for hire , thereby catering to the varying needs of the visitor. If walking is more your style there are many trails to try in the natural park of Arrabida, or in the surrounding areas of Comenda or Serra da Sao Luis.
Setubal / Nossa Senhora da Anunciada area
If the beach and the countryside all become too much you can take to the sea and observe the resident bottlenose dolphins at play or travel inland along the river Sado on an ancient sailboat to the pretty town of Alcacer do Sal. Here you can try some traditional Alentejano cuisine during one of those special Portuguese style extended lunch sessions before returning to Setubal once more.
If you hail from a city and get withdrawals during your stay, fear not ,Lisbon with its fine array of museums,galleries, theatres, chic bars, clubs and restaurants is also at your disposal. Kite surfing is available in Troia and the surf is invariably good either down the coast around Sines or up at Costa da Caparica. There are several stables in nearby towns offering lessons/hacks and donkey rides available along the hill ridges of neighbouring Palmela village. A great hit with children.

Just 40 minutes' drive from Lisbon airport, this traditional Portuguese town house is situated close to the seafront, restaurant area, local beach and castle with several other beautiful beaches and the stunning natural park of 'arrabida' a short drive away.
