The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

The weather is quite smooth in Sesimbra.
Autumn and Spring are less expensive seasons, the weather is usually fine, the village isn't overcrowded and Sesimbra is even more relaxing.
In Sesimbra you can find fresh fish, excellent seafood, delicious Portuguese sweets and cakes, regional cheese, excellent wines produced locally, and a variety of excellent restaurants.
Sesimbra offers many local attractions: Carnival in February, regattas in April and local festivities in May and national festivities in June (Portuguese people call them "Santos Populares").

From Lisbon airport: take a bus to Praça de Espanha and then a bus to Sesimbra.
From Lisbon Gare do Oriente Railway Station: take a train to Cais do Sodré, then a ferry to Cacilhas and there a bus to Sesimbra.
From Lisbon Santa Apolónia Railway Station: take a bus to Cais do Sodré, then ferry to Cacilhas, then a bus to Sesimbra.
By taxi: from Lisbon to Sesimbra it costs about 50 Euros.

“Very nice apt. with great view” Although this is not the newest apartment, it is cosy, clean and very well equipped. Isabel is very friendly and helpful. We found the mattress rather hard, but that is a personal observation, of course. The view over the whole town and beach is simply wonderful. Only one thing to take into account: the property is situated on one of the highest streets in Sesimbra, and wether you take the steps or the road, it's a steep climb from the beach (the only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars). As I was suffering from pain in my knees, I had to take the car to go down to the beach, and finding parking was not always easy. On the other hand, it is pretty quiet up there. We will certainly return.
