This beautiful chalet de montagne offers you a spacious and well decorated apartment in the stunning valley of Serre Chevalier. Situated in a rural location, yet close enough to shops and restaurants to walk to. In the winter we are a 2 min drive to the ski slopes which you can see from your balcony. In the summer these same slopes are open to mountain bikers, climbers and hikers with a lift service to get you up there. The chalet has a lovely garden which is a great sun trap, as is the balcony, both have stunning mountain views. These views are all available from your bedrooms and the living area. The balcony is south facing so keeps the sun all day.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Hautes-Alpes region
The beautiful valley of Serre Chevalier, which boasts approx 300 days of sun, is situated in the Hautes-Alpes. St Chaffrey is one of the villages which makes up this area. We are 5km from Briancon which is the highest town in Europe and has a beautiful old town and fort to wander around. We have 250km of piste which is open in the winter for skiing and snowboarding, as well as endless backcountry.
Serre Chevalier / St Chaffrey area
There is so much to do here in the summer. The Hautes-Alpes offers some of the best climbing in france. There are also some good Via Ferrata's in the area. Roche de Ram offers a beautiful lake to swim in or just sit by, as does Pontilas lake in Villeneuve. Mount Dauphin offers the chance to see wild marmotts and feed them! Picnicking on Col de Granon, or Lac de les Ayes. The hikes in the area are countless and the National park that is Massif de Ecrins is just on our doorstep. We are also close enough to Lac Serre Poncon, at Savine le Lac, where you can go Wakeboarding or windsurfing. There is also horse riding available for 1 hour to half a day, exploring the valley on horse back is great fun! If you're not into your horses you might like to hire a mountain bike and explore the mountain and make use of the Telepherique which runs from June to Sept. While your up the mountain why not eat at one of the lovely mountain restaurants.
How to get there
We are situated in St Chaffrey, a 2 min drive from Chantemerle. The best airport to use to get to Serre Chevalier is Turin, however you could get here via Milan, Grenoble, Lyon or Marseille. Turin is the closest, easiest and quickest at just over an hour and a half away. Easyjet, RyanAir and BA fly to this airport. I would recommend hiring a car through Easyjet too. From Turin you follow signs to Frejus, then head toward Montgenevre. St Chaffrey is the first village from Briancon.

Further details indoors: The chalet apartment is made up of two rooms, both have stunning mountain views, one has a balcony and patio doors enabling you to view the mountains when you wake in your bed in the morning! Both can have either 2 single beds or 1 double bed and both can fit a cot if necessary. The living area is spacious and consists of 2 sofa beds, a large table and well equipped kitchen. We have a tv, offering both french standard tv and english free to view channels. DVD player and many dvd's, playstation and games and a cd player. There are also many board and card games on offer. The patio doors from the living area take you to the south facing balcony where you can sit in the sun till the end of the day. Linen and towels can be provided for a small fee.
Further details outdoors: The garden's and trees offer exciting places for children to play. We have a large trampoline and swing set which is of much enjoyment to children of all ages. There is suitable parking for up to 3 cars and a large patio where you can use the sun loungers or bbq.

The apartment is open for let from the end of May to the end of October for the summer period. Our winter season runs from 15th Dec - 25th April (dates to be confirmed) In the summer the apartment is only available as self catered but in the winter we offer a b&b service or breakfast and dinner service. Our winter prices also include a shuttle service to the piste and we can arrange transfers for you from the airport, thus making a car in winter not necessary. However we do recommend having a car in the summer months. Our B&B and catered prices include linen and towels. If you require linen and towels and are staying self catered there will be small charge but linen and towels are available, please request these when you book.
Conditions
We will require a damage bond which is refundable after you leave.
