"What a great place!"

The Briancon area is a beautiful network of valleys high up in the Alps, with easy access to the peaks and the glaciers. In summer, there are hundreds of beautiful walks, from a gentle saunter along … More

It was a pleasure having you both here, and helping you get the most from your time in the area. We look forward to welcoming you back another time, whichever season you come for! Cheers

"Briancon is a wonderful place to visit both for winter skiing and summer hiking and we love staying at Snowgums."

We have already enjoyed two visits to Snowgums in winter for family skiing holidays but Pippa encouraged us to try Snowgums in the summer and boy are we glad we did! Coming in September the weather w… More

As ever, it was a pleasure having you stay with us. We love it when clients really explore the area and see so much of what is on offer, and you did. The autumn, particularly September, is a fantastic time to come here, still hot, but with schools having gone back most visitors are back at work. If you're not tied to school holidays, it's a great time to come. We look forward to welcoming you again in the winter. Cheers

"A brilliant find"

We'd been to Serre Chevalier before and really liked it, but this time we managed to stay for a bit longer. Perhaps because it is slightly further away from the main airports in the area, it's managed to retain a bit more of its local charm.
The apartment was great. We needed to do a bit of work while we were away, and there was adequate wifi and plenty of table space to set up our laptops. Halfway through the week a couple of friends joined us and there was certainly plenty of space for the four of us. The kitchen was well equipped and we felt completely at home in the place.
We are snowboarders and had a brilliant time on the slopes - there were no queues, the sno-park is a lot of fun, and there are lots of places to go off-piste.
The owner was really friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Great that you could explore the area as well as get on with work whilst you were here. We hope to welcome you back another time soon. Cheers

"Friendly family home in beautiful surroundings"

The property is full of character with a large garden and plenty of toys if you have children. It's in a quiet rural setting, so don't expect local services right on your doorstep, but with good access to other towns and villages by bus you won't have any difficulty getting what you need. The owner has a wealth of knowledge about possible trips to mountains, thermal pools and the beautiful old town of Briancon. The views to the mountains are spectacular and the skiing is really extensive in winter, with cross country skiing and ski touring available if you get bored with miles of pistes.

It has been so lovely having you both stay with us on your two visits to Snowgums, and wonderful this year getting to know the kids, and their kids! Hope to welcome you back before long. Cheers

"You either get it or you dont"

If you are looking for bland, characterless accomodation, then Snowgums is not for you. The floors maybe uneven but round every corner there is something new to look at. In the apartment I stayed in this time, you can sit in the thickness of the walls in a window seat with the sunlight falling gently onto the book you are reading. It is beautifully quiet but easy for everyone to get to the ski slopes, as well as lovely Briancon, on buses. This was my 4th visit and I still found new walks by the river, & cafes I had not been to. Great for all ages.

We have loved having your friends and family stay with us over many years. It's great catching up each time you come out, and we enjoy helping you discover new things, snowmobile rides to a refuge in the mountains, husky rides etc. Hope the two of you come out one spring or autumn - so many Tour de France passes to go at! Cheers

"Snowgums - great place to stay for winter alpine fun."

Very warm and welcoming owner of the properties - very helpful pre-visit information available and lots of good local knowledge. The rooms have lots of character, with everything you need, and there is a rustic charm about the place. Well located - around 5 - 10 min to ski lifts and shopping. Serre Chevalier is not overly developed and the combination of great range of skiing with often deserted pistes and rarity of queues make it a bit of a find! We plan to come back again.

We loved having you all stay with us earlier this year, and look forward to seeing you here again before long. Are you coming out this winter, 2014? Cheers

"Away-from-it-all, amazing scenery, lots to do and a warm welcome"

My family of four had a great week here. Plenty to do (more than we expected). Particularly enjoyed the glacier; walk and picnic up the valley; wandering round the old town and the lovely open/covered swimming pool. Holiday a hit with our pre teen girls.
Accomodation is lovely, old surroundings but all mod cons. Loved the bright touches to soft furnishings. Warm welcome and helpful tips from Pippa and Becky.

I am SO pleased that you came to visit and discover what we have in this special place, despite being (as you once said) 'not mountain people'. That's the beauty of this place: you don't have to be a climber or skier to have a wonderful time - there is SO much to do. We look forward to sharing it all with you another time, we hope. Cheers
