Villa Serra Vista has 3 double bedrooms (each with en-suite facilities) and its own large secluded pool (11.5m x 5.5m)with beautiful panoramic views towards the Monchique Mountains. It is a traditional villa located on the quiet, exclusive residential estate of Serra e Mar which is within easy reach of the nearest towns of Alvor (10 mins) and Lagos (15 mins).

It is just 5 minutes from the renowned Penina Golf resort and 10 minutes away from the two new and excellent courses at Morgado, and an easy drive of several others. All of the excellent facilities and beautiful sandy beaches on the Central / Western Algarve are within easy reach of the villa with the extended motorway through to Lagos only a 5 minute drive from the property. The location makes it perfect for anybody seeking a hoilday (shortbreak or longer) and is particularly suited to families and golfers.

The property has all of the facilities you would expect with satellite TV (including English channels), DVD player, and a fully equipped kitchen including washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. The availability of two large sofa beds in the lounge would enable further sleeping room if required.

Bedroom 1 has a double bed with en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has twin basins, bath/shower, wc, bidet. A door leads directly onto the dining terrace.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds and en-suite bathroom with basin, shower, wc, bidet.

Bedroom 3 has two single beds and en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, basin, wc, bidet.

All bedrooms are comfortably furnished with large built in wardrobes and equipped with fans, hairdriers, clock radios etc. Linen and towels are provided.

In addition there is a separate wc and basin for other guests to use.

The kitchen has oven, hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker etc. It is well equipped with utensils and crockery and galsses

The large living room has a high wooden beamed ceiling and large log burning fire in the corner. It is comfortably furnished with sofas and side tables and has satellite TV with English channels, DVD player, CD player and radio and playstation. There are 2 double sofa beds which can comfortably sleep an additional two people. There is a separate dining area in the lounge with table and chairs. A large window looks out across the front garden to the mountains beyond. Double french doors lead directly onto the large covered dining terrace with beautiful views across the pool and to the Monchique mountains beyond.

The villa is surrounded by large landscaped terraced gardens, which are fully stocked with almond, olive, lemons, limes, orange, tangerines, fig, grapefruit, mango, guava and palms.There are also many beautiful flowers including oleander, bouganvilla, roses and morning glory. There is a large, secluded, sunny poolside sunbathing terrace complete with sun loungers, patio furniture and swingseat. There is also an elevated covered dining terrace perfect for al fresco dining both during the day and evening whilst watching the sunset. Both terraces have beautiful views of the countryside and mountains beyond. A large barbecue area is also provided on the dining terrace area.

The property is built on a slight incline overlooking the Monchique mountains and as such does have a few steps. There are also steps down to the pool area.

Children or the elderly should be supervised / assisted when using these facilities and unfortunately the use of a wheelchair would be difficult without further assistance.

Rental rates shown are for groups of 6 people, (8 people subject to extra charges). For smaller numbers, discounts may be available. Prices include gas and electricity, bed linen and towels and a maid service once a week. The date of changeover can be flexible although the flexibility is dependent on other bookings.

The Algarve region

The Algarve is a holiday destination which appeals to all ages. It is a safe and friendly location offering excellent food and cuisine and with a warm, gentle climate and all year sunshine averaging over 300 days per year and more sunshine hours than Calafornia! On the long summer days, temperatures are around 28 C on average with 12 hours a day of sunshine, whilst evenings are cooler than on the Mediterranean making it perfect for children. Even in winter temperatures can average around 17 C and feel pleasantly warm in the day time sunshine.

The western Algarve provides an abundance of safe sandy beaches which are unspoilt and rated to be amongst the best in the world including the beautiful expanse of golden sand at Alvor beach a 10/15 min drive away.

Alvor is an old fishing village, still used by fisherman in their tradtional boats, with tile clad cottages, cobbled streets & picturesque harbour. It has a unique charm and quaintness, but offers a large selection of bars, some with live music entertainment, street entertainment, restaurants offering a range of food to suit all tastes, cafes and shops. Sea-food is especially good and fresh in the local restaurants and there are also some excellent steak houses. Of an evening it has a wonderful safe holiday atmosphere that is perfect for all ages, perfect for a pre or post dinner stroll through its streets or along its promenade.

The western Algarve has numerous places of historic interest including Lagos with its old walled town, and Silves, with its spectular Moorish castle surrounded by orange groves. Wonderful coastlines and unspoilt country parks and the peace and tranquility of the inland countryside. Excellent surfing beaches. Great food, shopping and nightlife. Theme parks, golf courses and other sporting activities. There really is something for everyone here.

If all of this is not enough then for those wishing to travel further afield, the rest of the Algarve is easily explored and the magnaficient cities of Lisbon and Seville (Spain) can both be reached in a day out either by car or through the many coach excursions offered, or in the case of Lisbon by the excellent train service which will whisk you in comfort through the countryside of the Algarve and Alentejo region.

Serra e Mar

Serra e Mar is a sought after exclusive residential estate near Alvor. Villas are set in their own large spacious grounds ensuring peace and privacy for a relaxing holiday. There are several excellent local restaurants and bars within a short drive of the estate (around 2kms) which offer a range of food, or simply drinks at the bar, and provide good value for money. A more exhaustive selection is available in Alvor, just a short drive from the villa.

A more extensive range of shops can be found in Portimao, a 10 min drive away.

Algarve Shopping is a large shopping centre, 25 mins drive away and also has ten pin bowling and cinemas including films in English.

Lisbon can be easily reached by fast rail link or by car in about 2.25 hours. Serra e Mar has very easy acess to the A22 Motorway making exploring the Algarve and further afield very easy.

Penina Championship course is a little over a mile away with other courses being easily reached ie. Morgado 10 mins., Palmares 20 mins, Alto Golf 10 mins. Suggestions can be made as to which courses to play.

The property is approx 10 minutes by car from the fishing village of Alvor which has a long sandy beach. There are numerous other sandy beaches within easy reach of a short car journey. A range of facilities including tennis courts, indoor swimming pools, nightclubs, watersports, horse riding, boat trips, cycling and canoeing all lie within very easy reach.

Typical journey times to local towns and attractions are:.Alvor 10 mins, Portimao 15 mins, Lagos & Silves 20 mins, Monchique 20 mins,

Slide and Splash Water Park 20 mins.

"Lovely relaxing family holiday"

Lovely large villa with great sized pool and pretty garden area. Ideally located to access attractions, restaurants and local towns by car whilst still being away from it all. Great place for our family holiday, enjoyed by all.

"Perfect holiday"

We spent 10 days at this villa influenced by previous holiday in this area. The holiday did not disappoint. The location is quiet and very beautiful with stunning views towards the Monchique mountains, however a car is essential. The villa was spotless and very well appointed, if a little cluttered, but for families with young children plenty of video games as well as boards games, cards and other things to interest children of all ages. However having said that, we were four adults looking for a relaxing break to chill out. The swimming pool was brilliant and very well maintained and we all enjoyed eating out on the terrace as we watched the sun go down. The owners could not have been more helpful and also recommended some local restaurants which did not disappoint. All in all we had a superb holiday !!
