The Algarve region
The weather is great most of the year (average yearly temperature 22.3C). April/May/October/November its in the lower 20sC, June/July/August/September upper 20sC - 35C or more. If you are lucky you can lay on the beach enjoying the sun on Christmas day
The area is filled with history. Why not go and explore some of the beautiful villages and towns that Portugal has to offer. You can visit the most westerly point in Europe - Cape St Vincent, see the natural springs in the Monchique mountains, visit some of the town markets and by the way Lisbon is only 2.5 hours away by car for the those who want to go a bit further, or Spain at 1 hour away.
Serra do Caldeirao area
The area is great for walking, and sightseeing on the edge of the Serra Do Caldeirao and next to Serra Do Monchique you get a real feeling of being part of Portugal. Dotted around are some great value portuguese restaurants with a real portuguese food.
Must see Villages
Alte is probably one of the most picturesque villages in central Algarve countryside. There is no sense of time while you stroll around the backstreets of the village. The views are breath taking. Sao Marcos de Serra is typical white washed village. Silves is the old capital of the Algarve and very much one of my favourite towns. Its sits at the foot of the Monchique mountains.
Coast/Beach Just a 25 minute driveaway is Gale beach, one of the longest and quietest beaches in the Algarve. The Algarve has a great rugged cost whith many grottos.
Golf The choice is extension for golfers.
Travel Faro airport is approximately 40 minutes drive away. Car hire is essential with shops and restaurants just a 10 minute drive.
Distances Messines is about a 10 minute drive, with Alte and Sao Marcos da Serra are about a 15 minute drive, Silves is about a 20 minute drive.

Guestbook
"I had an Idyllic peaceful time away from all our pressures of day to day life"
"This was perfect!! We thought we had died and woke up in heaven. Karen and John were very friendly. We did not want to leave but had to. Of all the villa's that we have stayed in over the last 2 years were OK but this one was the best and if we go to Portugal next year we will want to go back to this one." T Kemp, England
"A lovely house and in a beautiful setting – idyllic! It was just so peaceful and the ideal place for anyone wanting to rest and relax. The pool location – Superb! Like swimming in the middle of the hills. Being “Eco-Friendly” was excellent and we had no problems at all with power and water. We could not fault the house in any way, the bedrooms roomy and great cooking facilities. If you want to be away from it all (but close enough) then it is the place to be." H Robertson, Scotland
