"A Haven of Peace and Quiet :)"
We stayed here October 2012 and had a very nice holiday. The cottage is just right for 2 and is equipped with all you could want for a self catering break. The cottage is well maintained and very eco friendly. It is bright and full of character and most importantly, very clean. Our hosts Barbara and her partner are available should you require anything and the welcome pack they provide is second to none...thanks!!! Ettrickbridge is a very relaxing and quiet place with a pub (serves food but only has seasonal opening times), a phone box and a few houses. The cottage does not get mobile signals and there is no internet but you will not be bored as there are lots of books, games, CDs and DVDs. It really is somewhere to go to get away from it all!! I would thoroughly recommend Brigend Cottage and we will be back!!

"Perfect!! Cosy, homely cottage"
Just back from a brilliant stay in Brigend cottage. We had 4 nights in the cottage and can't rate it highly enough. You can tell as soon as you walk in that the owners really care about what they do as the cottage is furnished and equipped to an exceptional standard. We arrived to a lovely welcome pack consisting of homemade jam, a homemade cake, a bottle of wine and some milk, butter and fresh bread, and the log fire was all set up ready to go! The cottage was perfect for us (we were travelling as a couple with our Jack Russell) but the cottage has two bedrooms so would be ideal for families too. The surrounding countryside is just beautiful. The owners have stocked the cottage with lots of information about the surrounding area and local attractions. We visited St Mary's Loch and the Grey Mare's Tail, both of which are within 20 miles of the cottage and well worth a visit - both trips were stunning! I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful break in beautiful surroundings. Definitely worth a visit!!!
