Charming and very comfortable villa with beautiful extensive terraced gardens right at the foot of the village of Seillans. The house is very easily run and well arranged for a luxurious holiday with modern furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, two new en suite shower rooms and a family bathroom, a selection of games, videos and children's toys.

There is a large outside area, the wrap-around terrace with wrought-iron balustrade and pergola is attractively draped with vine and clematis affording shaded views of the village and the valley towards Fayence. An impressive stone staircase leads down to the solar-heated 12x5m pool with stunning green mosaic tiling and spacious paved surround with garden border. With sun from 9 to 6 the water shimmers with golds, silvers and greens of the water reflecting the hand-crafted restanque walls and beautifully maintained garden.

The pool and lower pergola levels have full lighting for evening dinners and swimming, including spot-lights on the two century -old mulberry trees beside the cabanon, and up-lighting on the restanque walls. The gardens are even more attractive at night.

This is a perfect solution for a village holiday with spacious grounds and modern amenities.

On the upper mezzanine there are three bedrooms, an independent bathroom and a wc. All rooms were recently renovated and now have full floor tiling and solid oak doors.

Two of the bedrooms have brand new en suite shower rooms and French windows. Every room has electric heating for winter use. The bedrooms have Provence style solid shutters and light curtains.

Bedroom 1 has a double bed, French windows, a built-in wardrobe, an en-suite shower room with a wc, single basin and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 2 has twin beds, French windows, a built-in wardrobe, an en-suite shower room with a wc, single basin and a heated towel rail.

Bedroom 3 has a full length bunk bed and a double bed.

The separate bathroom has a bath with hand held shower attachment and a single basin.

On the lower mezzanine there is a living/dining room which has comfortable sofas, a large marble coffee table, a local TV, DVD, VCR and a CD player. There is an enclosed fan-assisted fireplace that provides a cosy focus in winter. A marble dining table and four chairs allows for indoor dining. The views are of Seillans and the surrounding area.

The adjacent open plan kitchen is very well equipped with an electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, a large refrigerator, a freezer, a dish washer and a good supply of kitchen utensils. There is a separate utility room that has a washing machine and a downstairs wc.

The house has a wrap around terrace on different levels. At the front door (walk-in access only) there is a large terrace with magnificent views of the valley leading to Fayence and beyond. Along the front of the house there is a dining terrace area with a pergola and a wrought iron balustrade looking down over the beautiful pool and gardens. An oak table and six chairs are provided.

A 12 x 5 m solar heated pool is on the terrace below the house. Sun loungers and parasols are provided. The pool is equipped with 2 pool alarms in conformity with French law and is also fenced with a wrought iron balustrade.

A short step down from the pool is a newly arranged summer kitchen and BBQ area. Here there is a large dining area also covered by a pergola. At one end is the new covered BBQ (open BBQ is forbidden in this area). This is equipped with a supplementary electric oven and large double sink.

At the other end is a restored cabanon: a small hut with exceptionally thick walls that served as a dwelling over 100 years ago and now houses the pool machinery, a fridge/ freezer and shelving for all the BBQ dining and cookware.

The driveway gate has an entry code and also may be opened from a switch in the house. The driveway and parking area has lighting operated from the covered car port and also the house.

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

This is a fabulous region of contrasts and diversity: from the glitz and bustle of the coast, including the famous towns of Nice, Cannes and St. Tropez, to the rural idyll of the back country with medieval villages, traditional markets and beautiful countryside.

From busy beaches and shopping to magnificent golf courses or touring the many historical cultural sites in this region. From five star restaurants to single family cafes or from trekking and white water rafting to a simple game of tennis or a stroll around the village. This corner of France receives the largest number of sunny days in the whole country and there are events and activities all year round to enjoy them.

Seillans

The last village in the valley before the road climbs into the pre-Alpes, Seillans, is ideally sited for a genuine village holiday whilst also being within comfortable driving distance of both the coast and the higher mountains. The village is centred on a vibrant local community with strong leadership from the Mairie, which translates into a string of summer festivals, fabulous fireworks on the 14th July and excellent facilities.

The narrow cobbled streets climb sharply between tightly packed and very tall village houses to the restored castle and church at the core of the village. At night these are illuminated and look wonderful against the mountains towering behind. The natural light of this area is well renowned and many artists moved here over the last century: Max Ernst spent many years in Seillans and is commemorated in the village.

All daily amenities are available in Seillans and larger shops and more restaurants are available in Fayence, only 5 kms away. The famous aerodrome is between the two villages if you fancy gliding over the thermal currents, and tennis, riding, golf are all available nearby.

"Perfect!!"

We spent a fantastic late summer week in this villa. The villa is very well equiped and has a very calm and beautiful setting close to the little village of Seillans. The service from the contact-person was perfect and the swimming pool and the outside kitchenarea with barbercue and a electric stove was well used. This week was very relaxing and we would very much like to return to Amanou villa! Mr Christer Palmkvist with friends.
