La Bouscarle is a traditional villa set in private gardens close to the beautiful medieval hill village of Seillans, ideally placed to take advantage of the nearby attractions of restaurants, outdoor markets and summer festivals. It is a cool haven to return to after busy days exploring.

It would be ideal for a whole family who want to relax in peace and quiet then venture out to the many attractions this area provides. It is an ideal area for cycling with many tracks and a quiet disused railway line close by.

There are beautiful villages to explore, lakes and rivers and the beaches of the Cote d'Azure, Provençal markets and music festivals, in fact something for everyone.

On the ground floor there is a very spacious kitchen with a large range cooker and an open dining/living room with direct access to outdoor dining areas. The house has an authentic Provencal feel with beamed ceilings, light and airy and lovely and cool in the heat of summer.

A ground-floor double bedroom has French doors opening onto a covered terrace into the garden. A three piece bathroom is adjacent.

The second double bedroom is at mezzanine level, with air conditioning, an en suite shower room and access to a balcony and spacious sun terrace.

The third bedroom is the studio, a twin bedded room separately accessed from the main house with its own 'rain shower' room.

There is an excellent village pool in nearby Fayence 15 minutes away. This has a large lap pool and a dedicated fenced off toddlers pool. It is surrounded by lawns for sunbathing and picnics and there is a cafe on site .

.Nearby Lake Cassien is popular with families having pedalos, canoeing, children's cordoned off areas for swimming, picnic seating, bars and restaurants. There is horse riding within walking distance of the villa.

Tennis courts at both Seillans and Fayence. The beaches of Cannes and St Raphael are around 25km away, St Tropez can be reached in one hour.

Wifi - English Freeview and French TV channels - DVD player and DVDs and CD player are provided.

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

Seillans is situated 1,000ft above sea level hence the climate is wonderful. The drive from the villa to Seillans is particularly pretty taking you past old chapels, local vineyards and providing beautiful vistas .

This area of the Var is equally accessible to both the majestic scenery of the Gorges du Verdon and the glamour and beaches St Tropez and Cannes or take the train from nearby Les Arcs to Marseilles for a day trip or visit ancient Avignon and Aix en Provence the list is endless. There is swimming locally in the excellent pool in Fayence or in Lake St Cassien which also has pedalos and canoes. The countryside is perfect for walking or cycling and there is horse riding within walking distance of the house.

Seillans

Seillans is a beautiful medieval village with narrow cobbled streets, perched on a hillside with distant views to the coast. It has several art galleries.

An added and unusual facility is the local gliding club where you can book 30 minute flights to really appreciate the beautiful area.

There are both sophisticated and casual restaurants in Seillans and in the nearby villages of Fayence Callian and Bargemon where you can sit soaking up the atmosphere and the wonderful warm evenings.

There are village festivals throughout the summer and the annual Aioli festival at the Chapel of Selves is within walking distance of La Bouscarle

There are weekly markets at Seillans and Fayence and the Saturday market at St Tropez is a must, selling everything from food to antiques!

Food shopping is easily accessible from local supermarkets and open air markets.

"An idyllic spot, with all that one could wish for!"

We were delighted with La Bouscarle from the moment we arrived to a cheery welcome from Elaine's brother-in-law.

Our week was wonderful. We all loved the house so much that we made time to enjoy it and to sit in and enjoy the garden too.

Elaine was a pleasure to deal with, providing all we needed from the moment we first contacted her until the prompt return of our deposit.

"Wonderful, comfortable and relaxing. A place you can seek the thrills or just be chilled."

The perfect setting for exploring villages, lakes, coast and gorges of Provence. The Villa was beautiful, light and airy and very well equipped, a real credit to the owners David and Elaine who made us feel very welcome. The local village of Seillans has several very good restaurants with alfresco dining. A trip to the Gorges Du Verdon is a must see, the scale is breath-taking. We enjoyed our stay here so much in the summer that we are returning again to sample the delights at Easter - Can't Wait!
