This cosy cottage is located in one of France's most beautiful villages.Well equipped for self catering , you will find everything you need to prepare gourmet or simple meals, dining inside or out on the terrace or in the garden. The sunny terrace is ideal for soaking up early spring or late autumn sunshine as well as relaxing on long summer evenings.There is a table with seating for four and a large parasol to enjoy meals outside.
There is a large flat garden with sunbeds ..and a bistro table & 2 chairs to sit with a glass of wine overlooking the chateau and valley. Sit in the shade in the afternoon under the trees at the end of the garden. There are also two large parasols you can place for shade wherever you desire..
A mobile barbeque provides outdoor cooking and can be used anywhere in the garden or on the terrace.
With two bedrooms, both with double beds, one downstairs and the other upstairs, it is the ideal holiday retreat for a small family or two couples .
We also have a modern travel cot complete with mattress and linens if you are travelling with a baby.
There is a separate french style country kitchen, and a large lounge/ dining room with cosy seating for relaxing in the evenings.

A 16th century home which has been extended in recent years to provide comforable and rustic accomodation.
The rooms lead off from the entrance hallway. On entering you first find the country kitchen, well equipped for everyday meals or more elaborate dining!..The shower room & toilet are situated on the ground floor.
The ground floor bedroom is converted from the old wash house ..cosy & comfortable and simply furnished with a double bed, two bedside tables, lamps and a chest of drawers.
The large lounge dining room is the original part of the house & boasts large beamed ceiling a wood burning stove & polished wood floors.
Decorated & furnished in authentic french style it provides a cosy setting for evenings , relaxing and indoor dining.
Upstairs is a cosy double bedroom, with rustic exposed beams and a quaint porthole window that looks out over the treetops.
The large cellar below the house is accessible from the parking area and houses the washing machine & extra outdoor seating..the ideal spot for storing your outdoor gear..it is dry & secure.,

There is private parking for one car. Alternative parking can be arranged close to the cottage with access through the rear of the garden. There is also plenty of safe parking on the village green just a 5 minute walk away.
Steps lead up to the terrace and another few steps up to the entrance.
The large garden is flat and offers shade under the trees,and a lovely view of the treetops and castle ruins which is lit up in the evenings throughout the year.
There are sun loungers,large garden parasols, and a small bistro table with two chairs.
The terrace has a large wooden table & seating for al fresco dining.
A barbeque is supplied on wheels which can be used on the terrace or in the garden as desired.
We the owners are always on hand should you need us..we live on the other side of the village.
We will be here to welcome you to our cottage.
Please let us know if you wish to arrive before 4p.m or after 8 p.m.
Bath and beach towels, bedding and bedlinen are all provided,
for 2 week rentals you will have clean linen for the 2nd week also.
Electricity and gas for cooking are included in the rental. Wood for the open fire in the cooler months will be an extra small charge.
Charges apply for utilities for longer lets of two weeks or more from September to end of March (meter reading taken on arrival )
We are English but also speak French so we can help you book trips etc. should you require some help, and offer any advice you may need to ensure your holiday is perfect.
The Limousin region
Situated in one of Frances most beautiful villages. Full of 12th century homes surrounding the ruins of the castle. The river Auvezere runs through the village providing a beautiful picnic spot on warm days in the shade of the huge plane trees. The children can paddle safely in the shallow waters.
This region is known for its lush green scenery and fresh air.The lake district of France.
A pause for nature,caves, prehistoric dwellings,valleys, rivers breathtaking views and stunning historic villages.
Many places to visit for fun,historic interest or adventure.
Rocamadour,Hauteforte,Turenne,Collognes-la-Rouge,Gimmel-les Cascades all within easy reach.
Brive,Tulle & Limoges offer some shopping delights as well as art and theatre events.
We are situated on the corner of the Correze next to North Dordogne and South Haute Vienne.
An abundance of divine restaurants and bistros full of local fresh delights, Limousin beef, cul-noir pork,fruit and cheeses as well as a wealth of wines.
There are an abundance of fetes and fairs throughout the spring, summer and Autumn.
We provide booklets and up to date guides for you in the gite so you can plan your stay .
The brocantes(car boot fairs) are fun to visit .. and you may find that special French souvenir to take home!!
If your looking for some fresh air, peace and calm,and the beauty of nature this is it.
Ideal as a romantic break or with young children for some outdoor adventures and activities.
Canoeing,tree walking, tyrolean slides through the trees and over lakes!!
There are some beautiful clean lake beaches not far away, with a lifeguard watch, safe bathing areas for the very young, play parks and pedalos... and parking and entry is free. Rouffiac, Vigeois, Brive Lac du Causse) are all superb
Summer brings the open air evening food markets..there is one every night of the week near to us (between 20-40 minutes drive) and on Monday it is held in the village itself. Stroll down from 5 p.m. to just buy some local delicacies or stay for the evening, buy your food..cook it on the barbeques provided, sit and eat at the tables laid out on the village green by the riverside.. and enjoy live entertainment,music and dancing till late..then a short walk back to the cottage !!
There is a cafe bar by the river and a very nice restaurant with a terrace overlooking the river.
There is also a post office and tourist office to help with planning visits around the area.
Arnac-Pompadour is the nearest town with its imposing château and racecourse. Many family race events are held throughout the year as well as evening visits and shows.
Objat just 30 minutes drive away has a lively Sunday morning market,fresh food as well as clothing and home items..well worth a visit.
The river Auvezere is good for fishing especially springtime .
There are some pretty walks to take around the village and surrounding valley.
The nearby towns of Lubersac, Arnac Pompadour and St.Yrieix have supermarkets,banks and shops to supply your daily needs as well as some interesting art,and local speciality stores.
