The Normandy / Orne region
Situated in an area of natural beauty with many medieval sites to explore and usually good weather your holiday can be as quiet or busy as you wish.... Situated only 6 kms. from Carrouges, the chateau town as featured on BBC radio 4 "The Last Duel." true story of trial by combat in medieval France . Being on the edge of the Normandy/Mayenne border we are close enough for days trips to Mt. St. Michel . Normandy beaches. festyland. Loire Valley for tours of the vineyards and chateaux.. Trains run frequently from Argentan to Paris and Le Mans is only 45 minutes drive away . Only 40 minutes from the roman ruins at Jublains.. A visit to Falaise is recommended.

Pre en Pail is a bustling village with many shops large supermarket restaurants and bars.
We are situated close to Carrouges with its wonderful old chateau reputed to be the oldest chateau town in the area.. with numerous good restaurants and weekly markets..and has many shops including 2 supermarkets butcher delicatessen post office, pharmacy. several restauants offering tradional french cuisine as well as pizzas and crepes La Ferte Mace offers a wonderful old cathedral, lovely lake for swimming and fishing, with sandy beach and watersports also a wide variety of shops...only 15mins away.. We have a brewery close by where you can visit and sample the beers ,the brewery also has a pub close by which also serve fish and chips on fridays.... The areas around St. Leonard des Bois offers many adventure sports and the village of St.Generie is one of the prettiest in France with good restaurants and bars... The area offers something for everyone.. The spa town of Bagnoles de Lorne has golf courses casino and lovely boating lake.....For those of you who like birds there is an abundance of animals and birds, indluding birds of prey all around us.. sitting as we are on the edge of a forest......

By Ferry: Portsmouth to Caen within 1hr 30 mins. Le Havre 2 hours Channel tunnel and Calais within 4 hours easily reached by motorway
By Air cheap flights into Tours and Dinard also into Rennes all within 2 half hours driving . car hire available at airports..
