House | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Casa Deogracias is a 3 bedroom, (145m2) country house set in stunning countryside only a few minutes drive from Sedella, a typical Pueblo Blanco high in the La Axarquia region, but still only a short drive to the beach. It is an hour from Malaga airport, and under 2 hours from the historic city of Granada. Surrounded by National Park, famous for its wildlife and amazing walks, the house sits on a plot of 5,000m2, full of almond and olive trees. With magnificent views of the Sierra Tejeda mountains, it still echoes to the sound of Shepherds herding their goats.
It is a large, bright and airy house with open plan living room and 2 sets of double French doors leading out to covered and open terraces - great for alfresco dining & BBQ's. The living room is equipped with flat screen HDTV, Blueray player & library, and iPod doc, as well as high speed wireless internet. There is also a wood burning fire for the cooler months. The accommodation sleeps 6 people & comprises of 2 doubles and 1 twin room. The master suite has French doors stepping right out to the terrace and pool.
There is also a dressing area and en suite with wet room. The 2 additional bedrooms share a large fully fitted family bathroom. The open plan kitchen is fully fitted with all cooking facilities, washing machine, fridge freezer, etc. The terraces are fully furnished with outside dining tables and chairs, as well as sun loungers surrounding the large swimming pool (10x5m).

The Andalucia region
For those who are prepared to travel inland a little , the area of Axarquia is full of small white villages, each with their own character and history. Bordered by the Medditerranean to the south and mountains sheltering the area to the north, the Axarquia region enjoys the best climate in Europe. From unspoilt coastal villages and whitewashed mountain retreats to the resort towns of Torrox, Nerja and Torre del Mar. Both the city of Granada and the Sierra Nevada mountains are less than 2 hours drive away.
Sedella lies 59 km from Malaga and 33km from the coast at Torre del Mar. It is located within the area of Axarquia, on the scenic Mudejar Architecture Route, and has a population 700. Sedella stands at 689 metres altitude in the foothills of the Sierra Tejada and Sierra Almijara mountain ranges. It has winding narrow streets lined with whitewashed houses many of which have Arab style courtyards and gardens.
As well as Sedella, the villages of Canillas de Aceituno & Salares are approx 10 minutes drive from the villa. Both have shops, bars and restaurants. There is a very large shopping centre, as well as a variety of retails shops & other supermarkets at Velez Malaga, about 25 minutes drive.
Mid January - Fiesta de San Anton and Early August - Fiesta de Sedella.

We have stayed twice at Cass Deogracias, simply because the location is stunning and the villa is stylish and comfortable. It's high up in the mountains, and you feel completely away from it all.… More

"Nice location but villa needs tidying up"
We booked this villa for our twins 30th birthday. We also had in our party a toddler and a baby. There was only one travel cot available but Maria kindly purchased a second one for our use. She also … More
We try to do our best to make all our guests happy and are sorry in this instance you had a poor experience. This is our first bad review in 3 years so we take it very seriously.
We can only apologise for dust found in corners or under beds. The cleaners have always done a very good job as far as we can tell, but we will pass on your comments to them and strive to do better. As for being covered in dog hair, it would have been helpful if you could have backed this up with a picture as you've done to illustrate your other grievances.
The picture of dog poo you've used is I'm afraid from somewhere outside of our garden, as is obvious from the background. Unfortunately, during the course of the summer, things get damaged & worn. Moving sun beds, umbrellas, etc can cause paint to chip & fall. We try to address these issues as soon as is practical. The damage to the paint work in the bathroom is also likely to be the result of wear & tear, and as far as we can tell not caused by some animal as you suggest. We are happy to report that there is now no sign of the mouse you say took up residence in your 2nd week.
Crockery & cups inevitably get chipped, & glasses broken, & are replaced by us every year. We can confirm that there are more than enough unchipped ones to use. The wires in your photo are high on the wall above the front door, meant for the future addition of a doorbell, & not live.
As for the pool causing you injury, by your own admission, no one else in your party had any such reaction. Combined with the fact that the chemicals added to the pool are part of the normal cleaning/maintenance procedure, we're confident that the pool is safe to use. From the picture you have posted it is hard to agree it was filthy, and both Jeanne & the pool cleaner dispute your version of events.
We are dismayed that you feel our responses to your numerous emails were aggressive, particularly as, in one of your emails your son called me a "fool" & a "bitch".

"This really is the nicest villa we've stayed in"
The location is stunning, with views to the mountains & glimpses of the sea in the distance. The house is spacious and beautifully presented, with tasteful furniture and every creature comfort imaginable. There's fast broadband internet and english tv as well as a large selection of DVDs and books.
The villa was perfect for what we wanted, which was to chill out and relax around the pool, which was far larger than in any other villa we've stayed in, and looks straight out over the gorgeous countryside. Special mention to Jeanne & Rob who did such a great job of looking after us during our stay!

"Had a relaxing winter sun holiday at this lovely villa, great accommodation with every thing we needed."
We booked this villa for a December break and really enjoyed it. The rooms were all very nicely furnished and the kitchen fully equipped. Ate lunch outside most days by the pool on the patio, with lovely views over the countryside. Would like to go back in the summer so we get full use of the swimming pool.
