The surrounding campo is ideal for walking, from short walks (some directly from the house) to more lengthy spectacular ones.

The Andalucia region
The attractive town of Malaga is about an hour away, with its abundance of shops and restaurants, majestic cathedral and new Picasso Museum.
Granada is two and a quarter hours drive through stunning country, and worth visiting for the city as well as the El Hambre Palace.
Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is a similar distance away. Seville and Gibraltar are accessible on a dayâ??s outing, and the hydrofoil across to Morocco makes a more adventurous trip.
Numerous closer locations are enjoyable to visit â?? if you can bear to leave Casa de los Robles!
Sedella lies 62 kilometres from Malaga and 33 kilometres from the coast at Torre del Mar. It is located within the area of Axarquia, on the scenic Mudejar Architecture Route, and has a population of 700.
Sedella stands at 689 metres altitude in the foothills of the Sierra Tejada and Sierra Almijara mountain ranges. It has winding, narrow streets lined with whitewashed houses, many of which have Arab style courtyards and gardens.
Within the village the Casa Torre³n is built in a Renaissance-Mudejar style and the church of San Andr©s has a preserved 16th century tower. Near to the village the remains of an old military fortress can be found.
BARS AND EATING OUT:
There is Lorena Bar serving good tapas, the Piano Bar restaurant (better known as Rafas) open in the summer season and Bar Chiringuito a popular local bar serving tapas and menu Del dia. The Plaza Bar is very popular and people say it serves the best tapas in the whole region.
CANILLAS DE ACEITUNO
Canillas de Aceituno lies 51 kilometres from Malaga and 21 kilometres from the coast at Torre del Mar in the area east of Malaga known as the Axarquia, and within the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. Canillas de Aceituno has a growing population of around 3,000 who enjoy spectacular views to the sea and Lake Vinuela.
The town is situated on the scenic Mudejar Route, at 645 metres altitude in the foothills of the Sierra Tejada mountain range, on the highest mountain in Axarquia, La Maroma which reaches 2,080 metres. The natural spring from the mountain attracts people from far away due to a belief that if the pure water is drunk, illness is prevented.
Nearby is the spectacular canyon of the River Almachares where picnic and bar-be-que areas are provided. The nearby Cave of La Fajara and the RahÃ?Âges Nature Reserve are also worth visiting.
There are many activities and interests available locally, including a water park, lively coastal resorts and a busy shopping mall at Velez Malaga. Two golf courses are about 30 minutes drive away and the busy large white village of Competa, just half an hour away, offers a whole range of pastimes including horse-riding on the magnificent mountain tracks. Contact numbers for a range of places are available in the villa.

"Wow - by far the most amazing villa I've ever stayed in"
We were really looking forward to our first visit to Spain with our six year old twin boys and chose Casa De Los Robles as it looked like a great place to relax and get away from it all as a family.
The flight from Southend airport to Malaga was very simple and the transfer to the villa was incredibly easy (even with two very excited six year old boys!)
We hired our car from Record Go which I would really recommend - they have a desk in the airport and the queue was half the size of the Europcar one and we certainly paid less for the car. The directions to the villa were simple and easy to use and the whole journey took under an hour. The drive there was the first indication that this holiday would be rather special .
Once you leave the crowds of Malaga and head for the hills the scenery really starts to unfold and we were all just stunned by the beauty of the winding mountain roads and deep ravines all around us .
From the minute we passed through the gates of the villa into a great large parking area and stepped out it was clear that this place was kept to a fantastically high standard . The stunning gardens all around the villa were laden with figs , oranges and an abundance of flowers that scented the evening air perfectly - queue big smiles from the whole family...
Within the villa itself we had far too much space really ! The boys each had their own beautifully furnished bedroom and bathroom , we enjoyed our stunning master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (and even a little peace and quiet!) at the other end of the villa. I have to confess the fourth bedroom was used solely for the kids to build tracks with the giant Jenga blocks form the patio. There would be plenty of room for two families to share with all the facilities at the villa.
There really was every conceivable thing we needed to make our holiday as comfortable and easy as possible. Its clear that the family that own this place have thought of everything- the kitchen had a fantastic supply of any number of plates , glasses, cooking utensils etc . The only thing missing was a wine cooler but we fashioned something from a jug filled with ice cubes !
The villa was sparkling clean and the abundance of really good quality white sheets and towels made it feel more hotel than a self catering holiday . The real highlight for me was the beautiful photographs hung around the villa that gave the whole look of the place a real feeling of staying in someones ( rather lovely ) home rather than just another characterless building.
Whilst the inside of the villa is lovely, the terraced gardens , pagoda and of course the stunning swimming pool made our holiday absolutely perfect . The kids spent all week in the pool and the sizeable pagoda kept that full glare of the midday sun off us when we needed it . We went from the 29th June to the 7th July and it was perfect weather . I don't know what it would be like in August though as it was pretty hot even then . Even though the pool is unheated we made sure we put the cover on each night and recored 31 degrees one day in there - as the kids said it was like swimming in a cup of tea !
We really didn't leave the villa much except quick trips to the local towns to pick up provisions. We did have a day the the water park in malaga which was pretty steeply priced ( £60 for a family of four) but was worth every penny - the kids loved it.
We could see from the website when we booked it that a great deal of thought and effort had gone into making sure we would have everything we needed but we had no idea how beautiful the place would be in reality . I really can't recommend it enough . I just hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did ( not too much though as we are definitely planning to go back again next year!)

Wow! What an amazing villa. Nestled in the mountains North of Malaga, the villa has incredible views and so peaceful. We were there with our 2 sons (age 4 and 6) and they didn't want to leave … More

"Perfect piece of paradise"
This is an absolutely perfect villa. We stayed with 2 small children (4 and 2 years old) and they thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Before going I was slightly concerned that the pool might be a little chilly as it was unheated but it was in fact the perfect temperature. The villa is beautiful (the photo's don't show quite how beautiful it is!) and has everything you could possibly need for a lovely relaxing holiday. The perfect place to just relax and unwind with lovely views and peaceful, great nature too! The local villages are quite small but we found we stayed in the villa most of the time so wasn't a concern and it was not to far to the big supermarket in Velez Malaga. Thank you for a lovely holiday!
Thank you Rebecca for taking time to put a comment on Tripadvisor, and for saying such lovely positive things...much appreciated. Carolyn
