Sedbergh is located in the county of Cumbria. It falls within the Yorkshire Dales National Park boundaries and the breathtaking Lake District National Park is also just 20 minutes away. The area is one of the most beautiful in the country and attracts numerous visitors here time and time again.

Nearby Ingleton Caves offer spectacular underground adventures, Howgill Fells (immediately to rear of the property) offer exceptional walking or the Lake District mountains (20 miles) offer more intensive climbing and Englands Lake District offers water sports. Sedbergh Golf Course (highly recommended) is one of the ten local courses where we provide discounted vouchers for your golf with our mid week or week long breaks. Others are within 20 miles.

Local Towns provide many interesting places for outings such as Hawes Rope Museum, Cheese factory, and the quaint cobbled streets of there and Dent with its own Brewery. Lakeside Aquarium, Lakes Motor Museum and famous Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth museums are others within a short drive.

Further drives of up to 1 hour could see you visit the Rheged Museum at Penrith or Hadrians Wall and Carlisle Castle. Wild Life and animal parks are also within a short 1 hr drive.


Sedbergh is a fantastic place for walking holidays. People flock from all over to walk the Howgill Fells that loom behind the town.

Cycling holidays are popular in Sedbergh as well. With the numerous country lanes and bridle paths around the area, there are plenty of relaxing routes.

Sedbergh Golf Club is perhaps one of the most scenic golf courses in the country. The Howgill Fells provide a breathtaking backdrop to the course and the Clubhouse was converted from a traditional barn.

Other Music and Literary events are placed throughout the year and a visit to the site should allow the visitor to plan their visit with a relevant event.
